I was surprised with this place. It was extremely close to my home and was open late. Which is good for my families routine. Now quick disclosure I have only went once because of what I'm about to explain. I ordered over the phone because I had to pick someone up late at 10pm and I wouldn't be back around 11. So this place was newer and had good reviews and was open till about 12 midnight If I remember correctly. So I ordered a Philly cheese steak a couple of other burgers and I also tried the lamb(because another family member ordered it and let me try it.) I arrived at Fab burgers and first off it took forever for one of two employees to come and help me. The place is small and there is no way you won't see each other so its kind of crazy when your waiting there and not one of the two come to help me I say excuse me and they completely ignore me. Finally someone comes I tell them what I ordered and then the lady looks at me funny. She asks me what I ordered looks through a notebook she has. Then says oh yeah its you. Then proceeds to tell me I forgot to put your order through its going to take 15 mins. I say ok(even though it kind of aggravates me bjt whatever what else am I going to do I had nothing I could cook at home and unless I got McDonald's nothing else was really open close by.) I had another family member with me that I had to pick up they were tired from working all day but they stayed with me. Now we went from waiting for 15 mins to waiting almost 50 mins until we finally got our food
I got home which was not even a 5 min drive from the place and the bun for my burger was already mushy. Not only that but the meat they used wasn't a patty but like strips of beef. It was kind of tough and hard to chew. A bit bland and the bun wasn't the right size for the size of everything to fit well together. The fires were pretty good though. I also tried the lamb and although the sauce they used does have a nice mildly spicy flavor. The actual meat itself was also a bit tough and hard to chew. I tried taking off the sauce too see if it was just the sauce that was keeping the meat moist and for the most part it did feel that way. The lamb did feel a bit dry and wasn't fall off the bone tender nor juicy.
Overall the whole experience was very underwhelming. Especially after how excited I was to know a gourmet burger place was super close to my house and open late and all the reviews made it seem like a diamond in the ruff or rough( I forgot the saying exactly.) It wasn't any better then just going to McDonald's. Maybe it was because it was so late. When I ordered the food, I just went into my car to wait so I didn't see but maybe they just were squeezing the meat when it was on the plancher to cook it faster. So maybe thats why it was tough and kinda dry. I don't know I will give the place one more try again. The burgers are over $9 dollars for just the burgers alone. And a gourmet burger makes me think fresh Ingredients made in house burgers. But I saw them take meat out of a freezer and start cooking it. So its definitely not fresh fresh fresh. Makes me wonder what makes the burgers gourmet. But what do i know maybe it was just a bad time or maybe because of the girls mistake they cooked the food quickly, bad circumstance. But whatever the case is as of now its a no go for me will edit again whenever I go...
Read more*First time going as I’ve been wanting to check them out for a minute.
Went in at about 11:30 on a Monday. Nobody was there and the place had a weird greasy, old Chinese food restaurant smell to it. I would expect to be smelling beef, chicken, fries, something like that. I ordered the ultimate fab which had 2 beef patties and chicken bacon. (find it weird there’s no really bacon)
I got my food and it was served on a tray with wax paper, it kinda through me off a bit as I don’t know how clean the tray it. At first glance the burger looked good, then I saw the pool of grease it was laying. It soaked the bottom bun, o took a napkin to soak up the grease as best as I could. I dissected the burger and noticed 1 small tomato slice and 4 tiny end pickle slices. It came with 2 onion ring and only 1 piece of the bacon. I’ve never had a burger with only piece of bacon on it.
I took a bite and right off the bat there was something that didn’t taste right. Not sure if it was the grease, the chicken bacon or literally zero seasoning to the meat. I went through about 10 napkins from the grease of the burger, it was not the juiciness, it was grease. I continued eating it trying to figure out what was off with the burger. I can to the conclusion it was lack of seasoning, the grease and the weird flavour of the chicken bacon. The fries were ok, they are kinda like Costco fries.
Needless to say I won’t be coming back to try anything else on the menu. Customer service was kinda weird as I was overcharged then I said something after I paid and was told they I was in regular customer they could give me a credit but didn’t take any info down, then said I could have something extra instead like more fries but I don’t want more fries. She then messaged the owner and ended up giving me back the difference.
Very disappointed in the food as I eat burgers from all over the place but this one won’t get...
Read moreMy friends and I order here alot as it is convenient and on the way to our evening job. We had numerous issues. Countless times where our order was completely wrong or missing whole meals.
Tonight had to be the worst: for reference if the owners see this: our order number is 70443, our receipt was printed February 18th, 2022 at 7:59 p.m. Today we had ordered 1 order of buffalo hot sauce wings, 1order of honey garlic wings, 1 order of mozzarella wings, and 2 pop cans. We had ordered on call for pick up and the lady repeated the order correctly. When we came to pick up we were charged $54.71. We asked for a receipt and sure enough they charged us for The Ultimate Fab Burger Meal ($17.98) WHICH WE NEVER ORDERED AND WAS NEVER MENTIONED. I explained to the lady who was working there that we never ordered that and it took her 10 minutes to understand this and give us a refund. Then we get to our car and sure enought they messed up one of the wings. Instead of Honey Garlic I received what seemed to be some sort of Sweet Chilli wings (for reference I have ordered the honey garlic wings 4 times before and these were not the same). We were too tired and fed up to go back to complain again.
To be honest it seems like more of a staffing issue as our order is always messed up when the two females are working never when the male is working alone. Today we had to call twice to place our order as they put the phone down and ignored us the first time. The second time we could hear someone else ordering from behind so I am left to assume the person taking our order confused ours with the other person in the background.
Just a heads up for anyone who wants the poutine, there is huge inconsistency as they seem to add more gravy when they are running low on cheese in order to compensate and it tastes more...
