I was really excited when this place opened up. My mother and I went here today and had a pretty lackluster experience.
First of all, my mother has some dietary issues so she just wanted a plain big pancake (which are listed in the menu) with syrup. The cashier told us that they no longer serve big pancakes, only mini ones. She ended up ordering the mini ones with modifications. I ordered the Banoffi waffle (a 1/4 waffle with bananas and icecream on top).
When we got our food we were only given one set of cutlery/napkins. When we asked for another one she said it was for both of us (there was one large fork, 2 mini forks, but only one knife and napkin). I asked for maple syrup as well, which she forgot. When another employee came around us we asked her for the maple syrup, but she didn't seem to understand English (or she just didn't want to talk to us, but I think it's a language barrier). She got our waitress for us and we asked her for the syrup, which seemed to shock her for some reason.
The mini pancakes were good but my waffle was way overcooked. It crumbled like a cracker when I touched it. The portion of icecream was great but there was maybe 3 slices of banana.
They offer room-temperature water in paper cups, which you have to get yourself. You also have to go to the counter to order your food. I find it odd that a place where you sit down to eat can't offer cold water and glasses.
The food portions are very tiny for the price. For the same price you can get a whole waffle at Ihop or any of the waffle joints downtown.
In the end, we were still so hungry afterwards we ended up hitting a drive thru on the...
Read moreOrdered two things and was told it could be around 25-30 minutes which we agreed to as it was our first time here and we really wanted to have some vegetarian waffles. The employees are slow and lost. Came to ask us what our order was almost 25 minutes after having placed the order. 45 mins later my brother walks up to the counter to inquire if we were going to receive our food any time soon and was posed the question- “What table are you guys at?” 😐 Shamelessly still got sent half our order (it was just half sliced strawberries in a cup with some chocolate drizzled on them) after another 5 minutes had lapsed. After an hour of waiting we decided to leave, grabbed our jackets and asked the front counter attendant to refund the order. The employee apologized without any hint of remorse on his face and proceeded to tell me “I can give you the food and the refund” which I just politely denied. The employee’s response honestly appalled me because if you’re willing to do that why not just serve people on time in the first place?! 🥴 The place looks good and is bustling with customers. I wonder if all of them were asked to wait an eternity before they got their orders right upon ordering. It’s too bad they are unable to meet with their customers’ requirements in a timely and efficient manner. I am not sure about the others, but for my brother and I, this place definitely is NOT getting any of our business in the future after this extremely...
