Isshin Sushi — Restaurant in Surrey

I used to ordered takeout and ate sushi at this restaurant for more than 2 years. I even have them 5 stars on my previous review. But today's sushi takeout taste so terrible, the sushi rice are too soft to pick up using chopstick, the food are also tasteless (no sushi taste), not fresh and deep fried"s are soggy.

When I called to the restaurant, and asked whether they had changed their chef, one of the server told me that they've new ownership and new staffs. Because of the quality foods that I am getting today, I want to give them 0 star, but there are no option for me to choose. My pictures are to show you how the old management's sushi looks like, under new management their sushi looks and taste different.

I am not recommending anybody now to this place.

Update June 10, 2022:. Ordered take out from Isshin Sushi again after avoided this place for 1 year due to bad quality (after they had changed to a new management).

Today, I find out that they have changed to a new management again, and this new management sushi is very good, taste as good as before. Highly recommend this...

I haven't ordered from this place in a while most of the time they're okay but today I feel like the kind of ripped me off or must let me or scammed with ordering through them through Uber with her two for one chicken karate Dawn which is supposedly $25 each order and a total of $50 per order if you weren't getting two for one I have also attached pictures. And I also attach a picture of chicken karate which is 10 pieces for $15 as an appetizer. As you can see my picture I have six most in one order that's supposedly a cost of $25 each. Then race if you look at Rice separately is $3 so I have a total of 12 pieces karate and a bowl of rice say even two, All for a subtotal of fifty dollars before the promotion of two for one I expected To be full after my lunch I ate In one sitting To get me I'd rather just order one appetizer up chicken karagi And a bowl of rice It'd be cheaper And not have an expectation of two orders That's 25 each and get the quantity and quality Of what they sent to me Typical misleading up in your price to make a little extra promotion...

Wooooow. Originally chosen for its name (Isshin is the name of Ichigo's dad. Ichigo's dad's voice actor also voice acted for Minato, Naruto's dad. Minato's coat design is painted on the wall of Isshin. COINCIDENCE???) I love, love, love how this place was decorated. I couldn't stop looking around. As it is with most Japanese restaurants, the staff are Korean. But they really went all out for authenticity at this place. I believe they even hand-wrote and hand-drew many of the decorations around. Lots of attention to detail here I just love being in this restaurant for its atmosphere alone. The food was also fantastic. I had a variety of little snacks (avocado nigiri (lol), korokke, gyoza roll, veggie tenpura) while my partner ordered the whole BBQ unagi. ALL of this food was delicious. I shared my dish with my partner and, I'm not great with seafood, I tried the unagi. It was cooked perfectly and very very tasty. I want to visit again! It was a little difficult to get the attention of the staff to get a bill but I prefer that over being talked to...
