A lovely cafe tucked in a busy plaza in Surrey. The owner, daughter and staff are pleasant and always greet you with a smile upon entering the cafe. The space is open, great for catching up with friends, meetings, getting work done or even hanging out by yourself or with others. The coffee is roasted perfectly, don't hesitate to try something new on their menu as you won't get disappointed! I enjoyed their mocha with added whipped cream and cocoa powder, such an addiction! Their quesadillas are so yummy, especially with their house made hot sauces (I had to try all 3 on mine, so good!). Their grilled cheese is amazing, I love the bread they use! Pastries are, of course, a great pair to your afternoon tea or coffee. Be warned ahead if you are driving, parking could take a bit of time to find, but luckily they have a mobile app called "West Village Café" so you could order ahead and pick up your food to-go if needed (you get rewards as you collect points!). It's always a great vibe at West Village, especially when the owner and daughter is working. They make the best coffees every time :). Love the atmosphere, looking forward to spending more time here for a quick pick me up when you just need a place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Would come back again! The cafe is a bit hidden in the plaza behind some trees (which covers the sign). Really great place and would come back when I'm nearby. The cafe is clean and minimalistic. There were plenty of seats to sit around and very comfortable. Pretty cool how they have couches for those to have coffee chats and desks at another section for those who actually want to study. The drinks were really good. I ordered the Chai Latte and it wasn't sweet at all (may be an adjustment for some people but I think it's good that the drink isn't too sweet). My partner ordered the Vanilla Iced Latte, she found the drink to be a bit too sweet because the vanilla flavor was quite strong but overall, it was still really good (a bit expensive for the size of the drink, $6.99 but not absurd). The environment of the cafe is good and it's hard to find coffee shops that can provide a good experience like this. My only critique would be that for those who study, the music can be a bit loud so it may be difficult unless you have headphones on. But it's not bad for those who want to get the job done and. don't need to study.

So, so glad a friend recommended this place! I've been looking for a nice go to café to study at as they're pretty scarce in Surrey, but this place fills that void. Had a mocha and tried the paneer tikka wrap. They were good - nothing super special but I would get them again. Their food menu looks pretty decent, and I will definitely be trying more things and will post about them. The decor is gorgeous, seating is plentiful and staff are friendly. Like others have said, prices are a tad bit higher - but you shouldn't expect chain pricing at a nicer café like this anyhow. ***Food Update*** Good - I had the almond croissant which was delicious warmed up (approx $5). Disappointed - The grilled cheese was nothing special at all, I hate to say it but it was almost similar in taste to a Tim Hortons grilled cheese panini next door but at double the price ($9)! You can barely taste the basil or the garlic mayo, and the only sauce available to dip it in were the hot sauces by the coffee bar (the barista said she could offer nothing else to use as dip when I asked for alternatives).

My friend and I just had an incredibly disappointing experience at this cafe. We arrived just after 11am and used the kiosk to order. First issue was the lack of printed receipt, which we needed for business reasons. We figured we would ask for it after we were done, no big deal. Then we sat and waited for our order. And waited. And waited. After about 30 minutes, one of the two girls working called out one of the dishes we ordered. I went up, and the dish was there, but she explained to me she had noticed too late we had added an extra egg and that would be another minute. She said I could take the dish and she would run out the egg- I said no, we would rather wait for the whole order together. A few minutes later she called out one of our drinks. My friend went up and was told they didn’t have coconut milk to make her drink with, was almond or oat okay? She said no, so could she just be refunded the drink? The girl looked stressed and then said, well, they had coconut milk, but it was in a huge can that she didn’t want to open. After a bit of back and forth, she agreed to open the can and make the drink. Our full order (2 meals, 2 drinks) was finally ready at about 12:05- at least 45 minutes after we ordered it. Also, she explained that the coconut drink “looked weird” because of the coconut milk, and we both agreed. The drink did look weird and tasted even weirder. The coconut milk did not mix in the iced drink at all and was very unappetizing. All in all, the food was absolutely delicious and we both LOVED the menu, but were aghast and the lack of coordination, service, and communication. I can’t blame the poor girls working (well, up until one admitted she didn’t want to open a can of coconut milk) because it was clear there was a lack of training and structure in this place. Where is the management? Where is a boss? Has anyone trained these poor girls how to handle this incredible menu and what to do when things fall a bit behind? Sad. Absolutely loved the food but will never go back as it was too painful watching those girls struggle. We also never got that receipt, as it was clear there would be no point in asking for it, nobody there knew how to...

Review of West Village Café

I recently visited West Village Café and, unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming. While the café itself has a nice ambiance and could be a decent spot for coffee, I wouldn’t recommend it for lunch or sandwiches.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich, which came on an overly toasted baguette. The bread was too crunchy, making it difficult to eat, and the amount of roast beef inside was surprisingly minimal—almost as if it had been forgotten. Alongside, I tried their soup, which turned out to be nothing more than boiled tomato broth. There were no vegetables, meat, or even beans—just plain, watered-down tomato flavor. A sprinkle of herbs or even some parmesan cheese could have significantly improved it. There was also no option or explanation given about the soup during the ordering process, and to be honest, I am not even positive what kind of soup I actually received.

Service was another major disappointment. The staff didn’t greet customers or even acknowledge them with a nod. When I placed my order, it took nearly 20 minutes to receive a very basic sandwich. Moreover, the staff didn’t bring the food to the table, and they didn’t even provide a spoon for the soup. It felt more like a self-serve catering operation rather than a café with attentive service.

Overall, West Village Café might work if you’re just stopping by for a coffee in a decent setting, but if you’re looking for a satisfying meal with good service, you might want to...

Came her for the first time to see if it was good. After having eaten and read the reviews on here, my experience was confirmed. The food was sub par, customer service was lower than one star. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 4 years, I have experience in the matter. My experience involved; not being acknowledged or greeted (we made eye contact when we walked in), ignored for 6 minutes while one of the patrons texted on her phone and then was greeted by a "be there in a sec". One of us had our order taken while the other had to wait while the girls decided to chat amongst themselves. We then sat down and waited for our sub-par food to arrive (Blenz is better food wise) in the wrong packaging. We had let them know we wanted three items to be taken to go and one for sit down. There were a party of two who had already been helped, we were the only other two people in the store. They charge 0.50 cents for hot sauce which is unheard of. They ask for a tip when you pay, and as someone who always gives 15% as standard or higher, my tip had to reflect the service in this situation which was below standard. Restaurant is cute style though. I ordered the bacon egg and cheddar wrap, pan au chocolate and the antioxidant. (For sensory information/notes, wrap is crunchy with squishy inside, pan au chocolate is top tier, the antioxidant has ALOT of seeds - in case there are kids/people who don't like seeds) - The eggs were apparently crunchy from assumed...
