Wow a catastrophic failure in customer service and Fast Food and an unprecedented feeling of absolute disappointment in this location. First of all if you are driving this place is extremely difficult to access as parking is limited and underground, once parked in the parking garage you have to hike a considerable distance to enter the premises. I expected it to be busy and it was steady we waited about 20 minutes in line before we were duly shuffled in front of the clerk to place our meal after some difficulties placing our order due to a lack of English skills on the clerk’s part we successfully placed our order and were given a special device that would flash and vibrate when our order was ready, we were then directed to stand in the waiting area for our order, with several other people. We waited and waited and waited even more all while watching people receiving their orders and even people who were behind us with larger orders receiving their orders, after 15 minutes I began to become concerned but waited patiently, I mean it was a simple order 2 large fries a 6 piece bucket of chicken, a chicken sandwich and some peach mango pies, nothing special or difficult so I paid attention to the places where the different items were being made and saw ample quantity of all items so it didn’t make sense. After twenty minutes the line up had disappeared and there were no longer others waiting for their orders when suddenly a manager appeared and with dismal English skills rudely told us to move from where we told to wait by them into the area with tables, I’m sorry, I do not speak Tagalog but a certain decorum with how to treat customers should be followed and this person did not follow it, perhaps head office should provide coaching and training on professional customer service relations, regardless as this occurred I finally received notification that our order was ready, it took 23 minutes for our simple order! We no longer had time to stay as our parking was almost up but fortunately we had already asked for it to go. We immediately proceeded to our vehicle to eat our long awaited meal. Well that was an unmitigated disaster, the two Large fries were ice cold, my chicken sandwich was cold, the chicken although tasty was tepid as were our peach mango pies, nothing but disappointment in that entire order of food and even more so when you consider I invested 43minutes of my time for a relatively expensive, mediocre and cold meal with terrible customer service, I work hard for my money, I could have gone virtually anywhere else and had a better experience and better value...

The fried chicken was a disappointment when it comes to flavour. It was bland. Nothing special and didn’t remind me of Jollibee taste in PH at all 🥲 It was really crispy though, definitely crispier than kfc, church’s, other places BUT not as flavourful. Spicy chicken was not spicy enough, it’s just darker in colour. Also my mom said chicken tasted “malansa”?
We tried to order the peach mango pies BUT they said they were sold out already, which was odd because we came pretty early too. They had coconut pineapple pies instead. I think they probably wanted to sell out the new flavour first so they said peach mango pies were not available and offered the coconut pineapple ones lol idk. Like how do you run out of the MAIN MENU/SIGNATURE pies that people came for and waited 1 HOUR in line for during opening days? They shouldn’t have introduced the new pies yet and stick to stocking a lot of the OG peach mango that people come for.
My mom said the coconut pineapple pies tasted like cornstarch paste. Crispy outside which was good but the filling is a no.
Price is EXPENSIVE. I understand if it was Vancouver but for Surrey? It’s pricy. $3.99 for one small pie is too much.
Also despite having so many workers, the service is very very very SLOW. Other fast food places have few workers but can still handle long lineups because they have good workflow/system. Lineup was organized but the place should work on their workflow to take orders quickly and get orders out quickly with the 10+ workers they have behind the counter. I think they are not on Uber Eats or Skipthedishes yet and I’m sure even they know they are not ready to handle the amount of online orders with their current workflow. Staff were really nice though. They should maybe put a sign next to lineup and cross out items not available anymore so people don’t waste their time waiting out in the cold if they can’t get the items they want to try because people can get a bit annoyed once they are finally at the counter and they are told they cant get certain items.
I can only recommend the yumburger and spaghetti if you crave Jollibee taste. And peach mango pies (if they even have them available when you order). If you want flavorful and crispy chicken I would stick to the korean fried chicken...
Read moreBeen wanting to try Jollibee's for a while now. Plus now that the hype and crowds have died down. Today was a perfect day for me to try out the menu. There was literally only 2 people in line when I came to visit on a Sunday around 2pm. The service was quick, I think I got my meal and was out the door under 10 minutes. Definitely fast, for a fast food place.
I was watching a recent video on YouTube with (Valkyrae and Bella Poarch) where they rated the Jollibee Menu, so I ordered off their tier list.
The Jollibee Chicken Joy combo was rated highest, followed by the spaghetti. I ordered the 3 piece combo (2 spicy, 1 regular) and a side of spaghetti and a pineapple quencher. I was not disappointed. In their video they said the spicy was all sold out at their location when they ordered, so I had to try the spicy. Plus, typically I order the spicy at a fried chicken place anyways, as I usually find that the crispy skin is just better with the spicy. However, I was not disappointed at all with my order. The regular chicken was just as good as the spicy. My meal was piping hot, juicy, the chicken pieces were BIG and the flavor wasn't overpowering or greasy. All positives. The spaghetti was slightly sweet, then you realize that there are sliced hot dogs in there as well. The pineapple quencher is definitely highly recommended. It was light on the sweetness, but it sure was refreshing.
Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely be back. The hamburger steak, Aloha Yum Burger, and Peach Mango Pie are still on my list to try. My coworker brought in some Jollibee's for us to try and the chicken and peach mango pie was what she brought in. I can't wait to try these piping hot so I can solidify it into my memory as must buys whenever I visit Jollibee's.
The only downside I found was there was a $0.15 fee for the take out paper bag. I thought this was a Vancouver only fee; I had no idea it was spreading out to Surrey as well. Overall, I'm still happy as the total cost was $20.10. Church's Chicken was my go to Fried Chicken spot before this, but it's definitely got a solid contender...
