Don't go here if you can't or choose not to eat gluten or dairy. I asked the woman who owns the store, if she has any items without gluten and dairy. She said "no" in a very friendly voice and smiled at me. I asked for a coffee. I can't have soy, so I asked for almond milk. She said she had run out. When she checked her oat milk, it had gluten. I was polite during this whole process, but I was surprised. I understand it's a small store and not a chain like Starbucks, but I have been to smaller cafes who make the effort and have at least 1-2 bakery items for individuals with allergies. I'm also assuming they keep a larger stock of alternative milk than her. When I politey said "thank-you" and went to leave, she gave me a big smile, laughed and made a comment about this not being the place to come to if one has allergies. She wasn't rude, but I felt off by her comment. It's hard to explain what I felt. There's been a few rare times when I have been to an establishment and they don't have anything I can eat. It's not as if I'm expecting them to say sorry, but each time they have shown regret in some way, shape or form, which I appreciate. Instead, she just laughed and made a joke. It made me feel like she was making light of the fact that millions of people have gluten and/or dairy allergies and would appreciate alternatives. It also made me feel like with her over laughing and smiling she was trying to take the attention off of her not being able to provide people like me something to eat. Being overly friendly, laughing and smiling won't make people forget that you...
Read moreWorst carrot cake and banana loaf ever. stale, dry, icing on carrot cake left an oily after taste. The center of biscotti smelled moldy… YUK ! Asian woman had terrible customer service like I was doing her a favour coming in there. I will not spend another cent in that place even if I was paid to eat something there and was starving. I followed all public health orders like most customers. I rather have McDonald’s even though it’s not a great alternative, better than that place again. Public health should take a visit and conduct a thorough...
Read moreFantastic coffee and baked goods. Had the morning muffin one day last week and it's gigantic, well worth the price compared to most places. It's also great to have a small business like Notti Biscotti next door to my work so I don't have to buy over-priced Starbucks anymore or Tim's hyper-caffeinated, dirty dishwater that passes for coffee. There are also comfortable chairs to lounge in and set up your laptop when if you need a change of scenery. I highly...
