My family and my husbands family has been coming here for 26+ years faithfully. We loved the food and the service over the years. The prices were always higher than your average Chinese restaurant but the food was worth it. While the food still is a 10/10 and the service is still really great.. the prices and portion size has made me change my review from 5/5 to 2/5 and unfortunately has made our entire two families look elsewhere for Chinese cuisine.
Since Covid the prices have gone up substantially more than a couple of times while the portion size has seemed to go down rather than stay the same. They have been stingy with sauces and if you have any substitutions for your order at all they will charge you an arm and a leg. Example: I order a dinner for 1 which costs $18 but substitute the meat for veggies to make it vegetarian and they charged 5 extra dollars... I understand if I was asking for extra meat, but not veggies.
My dinner for 1 costed 26 dollars.. that could be enough for a steak dinner.
Even the dinner for 5 feels only enough for 3..
Sadly it just doesn't feel like you get your moneys worth. We are extremely bummed out about changing restaurants but it's time to look elsewhere after so many...
Read moreBest Chinese in town but very high priced.
I was a devoted customer for over a decade but unfortunately the prices have sky rocketed. The combo prices have gone up $5 a year for the past 4 years. That's a $20 increase for each of the dinner combos! The price used to be worth it but it's too costly to eat there now. I understand that prices do go up over time but a $20 increase in 4 years is not inflation.
The last time I ordered I was informed the price for the family dinner had gone up yet again! I was angry but ordered anyway because I already had my heart set on Chinese. When I brought it home and opened the bag the almond chicken was missing. I called and let them know and they informed me the 3 person meal no longer comes with almond chicken. So it now costs even more and you get less food!
They mentioned the price change over the phone but never said anything about removing almond chicken from the combo. I'm not paying over $50 for chop suey, chow mein and sweet and sour pork. They just lost a 10 year customer that ate there frequently. I haven't been back since.
As for the food, it really is the...
Read moreI can honestly say I have never been more disappointed with a Chinese restaurant. Overpriced, tiny portions, and below average food. Typically the portions at a Chinese restaurants are fair relative to the price, but that was not the case here. I ordered 3 items ($40) for 3 people. The items were shanghai noodles, beef with ginger and pineapple, and spicy chicken. It is good to point out that two of these people, my dad and sister, have appetites below the average person as well. The beef had about 6 thin slices of beef while the rest of it was a mix vegetables (mostly onion and green pepper) and the spicy chicken was more than half broccoli. This would be fine if the quality of the food was great, but it was average at best. I had to go and make us three some more food after. The only caveat was that it was prepared relatively quickly, but I'd much rather wait and be satisfied. I would highly recommend going elsewhere if you're feeling Chinese tonight. I...
