Love the home made flat bread. Best falafels I have ever tasted. 👍🏽 Hummus is smooth and creamy.
Update Friday Jan 8, 2021: Last Friday was a disappointment and It honestly made me rethink if I want to return. We ordered take out as usual and were told our order would be ready in 15 min. When I arrived I could see that they were overwhelmed with orders. I had to wait an extra 20 min, Np I'm a patient. I do want to point out a couple of things I observed. The older gentlemen serving wasn't wearing gloves and wasn't wearing his mask properly as he had it hanging on his chin, I know, it gets hot and uncomfortable. He was touching everything, the register, food, his face and it made me feel ill. Sweaty hands everywhere and trying to keep up with the rush of orders. It wasn't covid friendly if you know what I mean.
Next the patrons can't read. Enter from the back, by the convince store parking lot and exit out the front 152 St., However everyone I observed exited through the entrance door. This. Also occured when I first entered Palmyra, 3 guys leaving the wrong way! It was clearly marked and the employees were too busy to notice. Here's the kicker. I was overcharged and didn't properly receive what I ordered.
I asked for 2 of their home made pita bread. Found this out when I checked my order in the parking lot. I had to return, wait another 10 min and guess what, I received a regular pita bread. Also they were going to charge me again. I said no, I already paid for my order. I repeated numerous times, I would like 3 baklava, I mean I did order 3 wraps. I only received 2 baklava and was charged for 3. The wrap was subpar. When their is a rush of orders, service and quality decrease.
In conclusion this was a one time bad experience, however it does not outweigh all of good food we have ordered...
Read morePros: food is quite good good portions Amazing falafels and tahini dip nice moist rice
Cons: very basic hummus busy and often staff are young male who are kind of rude tbh staff make you feel rushed and dont really offer a personalization factor like you might expect from how its set up. You'd think it'd be kind of like subway where you could request, ' more rice, less chicken, no greek salad, sauce ontop please' ect, but they dont really give you the chance or that option. For instance, my partner does not like Greek salad ( veggies in a vinegar ) Everytime we go, he doesn't even get the opportunity to ask them not to include it or to substitute it, before they've already thrown it into the box amd shut it. you're only given one SMALL Sauce ( tzatziki I believe ) to put ontop of your large portion of mix shawarma platter. To me this is the biggest con because, the sauces are what really makes a good shwarma platter 'imo'. Most places, drizzle or pour sauces on top of your meal, not just send you off with a little dip container. they charge you extra if you ask for more sauce website said $18 for shwarma platter with your choice of either pita or saj bread. Nothing mentioned about additional cost for the saj. But every time i order it, i get an additional charge for the saj bread. So the website is very misleading there. ( Website recently changed however) its a little pricey / money hungry overall in my opinion . chicken last 3-4 times was very dry and seemed old. So I just wont even order the chicken again.
But again food usually is really good and the falafels keep me...
Read moreI'm just about a quarter the way through my 1st meal ever from Palmyra Mediterranean Grill in Guildford, Surrey.. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate I ordered it 'to go'.. I had to review right away cause it is soo good I didnt want to forget later.. The food is so fresh and tasty. The salad is nice and fresh and delicately prepared. The chicken and rice is seasoned perfectly and THEIR HUMUS IS AMAZING! Their humus is light and fluffy. Its also seasoned perfectly not too salty or garlicky. Their tzatziki is also perfect. A little runny with excellent citrus-yogourt sourness and perfect level of seasoning. I have seen them and driven by many times over the years but never went in.. Im glad I finally did because they really prepare their food with pride. you can tell. Its very good thank you.. and the prices are very reasonable. Ill be coming back soon for sure. I like that they use biodegradable togo containers. The decor in the restaurant is average. There is no air conditioning, just fans in the dinning area. The bathrooms are actually nice and well kept.
And they are very friendly too. I told them it was my first time, and asked them how long they were in business for and they said "weve been here for 7years" And I realized I had been snubbing them for so long.. I finally became a customer and they said "thank you" as I left, and, "we hope you like it". Palmyra is a really nice locally O&O'd north surrey gem.
