My husband and I went here last night. And we won’t be going back. I’m leaving this review as a manager in customer service industry for 10+yrs, in hopes management will use this experience to address the issue possibly by reviewing proper procedures and help prevent another patron from having the same experience, to improve their business.
It was dead with maybe 3-4 patrons around 11pm We’d been discussing some heavy life topics prior to entering and I was looking down at the table when My husband ordered our drinks and I spoke quietly to my husband to make a change to the order.
The blonde waitress asked if I was okay and then before receiving an answer or explanation stated she would not serve me because she claimed my ‘eyes were just closed’ (mistakenly judged from my looking down I’m assuming).
My husband asked if she was serious and she said ‘yeah no- her eyes were just closed I’m not serving her’ (The whole interaction was less than half a minute.) She then marched off to lean over the bar and tell the Brunette behind the bar whatever she needed to hear for them to stare at me while my husband and I left. It was embarrassing. It gave me that - walking down the halls at high school past the very people that are actively gossiping about you- feel.
We were stunned with shock, just the severe misjudgement, and the manner in which it was conducted was so incredibly unprofessional.
I’ve renewed my serving it right a few times, and I’ll pull this right off the website under ‘signs that a person is unduly intoxicated’.
You may consider the following indicators when assessing if someone is unduly intoxicated, but this is not a definitive list.
Speech
Balance
Coordination
Behaviour
If you note any of the above indicators in a patron’s conduct, assess if there could be causes other than intoxication. Speaking to a person about the possible causes for their signs of intoxication is important in meeting your obligations under the Liquor Act. It also ensures that you do not unlawfully discriminate against a person with mental or physical impairments.
Assuming she was refusing me that she thought I was drunk, I had not yet...
Read moreVisited with a few friends on a busy Friday evening and had an excellent experience. Despite the high volume of guests, the service remained prompt, attentive, and friendly throughout our visit.
We opted to share a variety of appetizers, including the nachos (which were impressively generous in portion), dry ribs, cheesy garlic prawns, fries, and wings. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful, making it easy to sample and enjoy a wide range of offerings.
A standout feature of the menu is the selection of $11 items, which offers great value without compromising on quality. Both the ribs and wings, as well as a personal portion of nachos, were included in this section—an exceptional deal considering the portion sizes and taste.
The only minor issue was that our Caesar drinks arrived a bit watered down, but the server addressed it quickly and professionally, ensuring we were satisfied.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening with great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. We’ll...
Read moreReally Great Punjabi Guy running the Store tonight. I didn't ask his name as I was embarrassed it was the first time meeting him. He has been working the store for 6 Months, but has other businesses in Surrey he runs also. You can tell the way he conducted himself he is indeed a people person.
I do like the other staff as equally friendly I guess. Although I feel a connection towards Punjabi people because they lead with a service heart,. This is a quality that is often overlooked in canadian culture. They lead by example and rarely are frustrated. They represent family and respect to authority figures.
I appreciate the calm demeanor he has I felt like I was talking to a friend. That's what I want at my neighborhood pub and liquor store.
Protect this Man at all costs.
