Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came here tonight because our original dinner plan (ahem, Costco) was crazy busy. We ordered #5 large, #37, and #48. After ordering, the boss (Iām assuming) came over to our table and suggested I switch one of the proteins for my dish in #48. He was quite adamant that I would not enjoy the shredded pork that was part of the dish. How would he know that I wouldnāt like it?? I indicated that Iāve eaten that item before but he was trying hard to dissuade me. Perhaps they were out and that was his way of telling me???? Anyway, I switched the shredded pork to grilled pork instead. Pros: none Cons: many ā¢portions were small ie. there were barely any noodles for #5 large, the grilled chicken and pork in #48 were merely slivers like deli slices on a plateā¦they were paper thin. Yet they give the illusion of plentiness by serving the noodle soup in a large bowl and spreading the rice and meat dish to fill up the entire plate. ā¢ngoc cham was overly sweet ā¢broth in the noodle soup was overpowering with cinnamon and cloves ā¢false description for #48 ie. menu indicates broken rice, it was not broken rice in the dish but just plain old long grain rice. ā¢my partner ordered #37, I didnāt even bother to try; the chow mein looked sad and unappetizing. He mentioned the df prawns were doughy, tasteless, and store-bought.
This place was getting busy just prior to us leaving; I canāt figure out why though! I regret not sticking to my original dinner plan.
So, my quest to find a great Vietnamese restaurant is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday we visited this place. Food was good. Waiter took order, walked away itching his butt for 5 seconds, went behind the seat and continued to scratch his butt and this time looked like he went in his pants scratching for 10 seconds and went back to doing his duties like handling cutlery and then delivered a dish to a table. I immediately called the other waiter over, let her know of this and she apologized. I asked are you going to ask him to wash his hands with soap and she did and then he went to the washroom to hopefully wash his hands. I told her I donāt want him touching our food. He forgot to order the spring rolls as the other waiter told us and it came at the end, once we finished our food. The food was good thatās why Iām giving this rating but I probably will not return. The other waiter was nice, but I just donāt understand how he could literally scratch his behind in the open and act like nothing happened and continued to touch stuff and serve people. Iāve been here multiple times and this is the first time I had an unpleasant experience and am sharing because their sanitary standards need to...
