Truckin’ BBQ — Restaurant in Surrey

I really hope this was a fluke. I first ate here over 1 year ago, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was incredible with great staff.

Went again today with the girlfriend... The tables were sticky in spots. The food was cooked absolutely incredible, brisket was cooked to fall apart, chicken tenders were moist and crunched, fries were well done and crispy but not dry. Mac and cheese ended up getting cold within 5mins. But the seasoning... was absolutely terrible. There was not an ounce of spice or flavor in the food. Fries were bland, brisket was bland, chicken was bland, cornbread was bland, beans were bland, and the pulled pork mac and cheese had little to no sauce with undercooked noodles, and not an ounce of seasoning in sight...

Honestly, it's a disappointment. I have been waiting to go again all year, and after tonight's meal, my mood was just ruined. Such a drop in expectation. The only reason for not receiving a 1star review is that the waitresses were very polite and came quickly with food.

Bad experience here today

Server had a bit of an attitude with us. Sat down got menues waited 10 minutes she came to take our order both of us were getting brisket dishes. Only after we tried to order the server tells us there is no brisket quite rudly no sorry we are all out just said we have no brisket kinda rude. So food come to our table ribs are cold had to walk back inside to the server with them. Then had to ask for condiments and napkins she brought us just the condiments. So had to get up from the table again to ask for napkins or tissues. Very bad service

Also the pork was really bad compared to my last few times here was really dry.

I previously had a 5star review of here cause service and food had always been top quality and I recommend alot of people to this restaurant as I believed it was the best bbq in the lower mainland.

Unfortunate that quality has dropped off ill miss the old quality of food and service...

I saw their food truck at the Canada Day festival in Cloverdale and became interested in the food as I love BBQ so I went to the restaurant a couple weeks later to give it a try.

First of all, the staff were super friendly. No complaints there.

Their debit machine wasn’t working and I didn’t have cash so I e-transferred the owner. A little odd but sometimes you can’t control technology, I get it.

The food however was sub-par. I got a beer and the full ribs that came with two sides which came to about 50$. This is extremely expensive for the quality I received.

The mashed potatoes and gravy were cold. The potato salad was okay but kind of bland, nothing to write home about.

The ribs were good and slid off the bone but they were also cold and the BBQ sauce was also a little bland.

Overall I would say this restaurant is not worth the price. If they lowered it and made sure the food was hot it would make...
