Just based on take-out because my favorite place in Langley was closed and Google gave this rave reviews. :( This place is expensive I would of payed 30-40% less at my favorite place. The packaging was good and tight for taking home safely. Here's what I had...
Miso soup: Salty. I like my tofu around 9mm square and these were 4mm. Just disintegrated. It was okay.
Ebi-Sunomono: A generous amount of baby shrimp piled on top but it was again salty and tasted like minced shrimp. Shrimp were half the size I was expecting of my favorite local place. I thought the vinegar was malt for a split second and not tasty enough to down. Bad overall.
Vegi Tempura: Can't go wrong so I thought. It was good but a few pieces maybe a little too chancey. Like the mushroom. The oil was sucked in by the mushroom and broccoli. I wanted a crispy broccoli but it just was mush with oil although the other was fine. My wife gagged, haha. Bad overall.
California roll and dynamite roll were just okay because they were fishy. Sounds odd I know but they were. Not sure how that happened.
Vegi Roll was awesome! I would order these again I wish I had more.
Overall, I'm never going back. So many better places out their for far less.
PS My favorite place is Kim Chi Palace, the Dinner for 2 special. For the price, nothing beats it except the all you can eat at Jun Sushi but you'll be full anyways and it tastes...
Read moreThis sushi place used to be awesome and delicious! Sadly, over the last several months the taste and quality is hit or miss. I’ve tried several times to go back and try again because the staff are great and it was amazing, and I just can’t spend the money here anymore to see what kind of meal I’ll get. I’m not exactly sure what the problem is lately. The rice tastes just off. Used to be fluffy and sticky. The chicken in the donburi and the beef are either tender and yummy or chewy and dry. The yam in the yam yam roll my last visit wasn’t even cooked thoroughly. It’s too bad, was a great place! Hopefully they can make the adjustments needed to bring it back to 5 star food as the staff are very nice and the restaurant is very clean and cared for. Cute booths and...
Read moreWe normally prefer take out, but the dine in experience at Village Sushi is great. They have a few enclosed tables which are fun for groups. The food quality justifies the price. Serving sizes are also bigger than most. Their tuna roll and BC roll are the best I have had and the standard I measure others against. Presentation is also top notch and servers are friendly. You can find cheaper places for sure, just none that come close to this quality. Even their salad is filled with fruits and vegetables that are perfectly ripe. We have always had great meals there. They provide a free fruit plate at the end of the meal which is a great way to finish the experience. I highly recommend Village Sushi if you are serious about...
