I had two custom cakes done here and oh my gosh.. I could not have been happier with the outcome.. I told them my ideas and what I was expecting while trying to stay within a certain budget... with a few photos to reference they took all of my ideas and created the most amazing cakes. With more detail then I could have even imagined possible... Both cakes were for baby showers and the guests were blown away by the detail that went into creating them. They both had such a wow factor to them. The green John Deere cake had the mommy and daddy, to be in tears.. It's Definitely an art to be so creative with their cakes ! And make their customers ideas come to life.. One tiny little piece of constructive criticism that I can give to happy cakes is that the cakes were very sweet. A little too sweet, however being that there was soooo much flavour and the decorating was just out of this world, the sweetness is not a turn off and I will be ordering again for all my big occasions and party planning ! Happy cakes is really a great option if you want to achieve that huge wow factor with your guests - you definitely get what you pay for because the cakes are very pricy but.. you can't get these cakes anywhere else! I highly recommend them and it's 10/10 worth it! Thank you again.

Never disappointed. If I HAD to choose one criticism, it would be that I wish the minicupcakes were "selectable" in the flavors similar to the large ones. The minis are preboxed and in more safe plain flavors but I want the cool crazy ones that are represented in the large size. Personally, I prefer mini, because I have had gastric bypass, and also it let's me try more flavors with less mass, and the icing to cake ratio on a mini is more tolerable, but their cupcakes are literally so good, I just buy a dozen and take a full week to eat it. Yes. A full week later. They didn't even start to dry out until day 5, and even then, it was delicious. They were still perfectly moist by day 3. Did I leave them out of the fridge and just in their box for 7 straight days, while still eating them daily? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Is that health safe? Jury is still out. Im sure I could have ordered the mini cupcakes in their other flavors, but I forgot to call ahead, but it wouldn't be too hard to do since I believe they are all either chocolate or vanilla based for the most part. The becky is hands down the best cupcake there. No wonder it won a food network competition. Photo is my half dozen today, and my dozen last week. Worth the drive from New Westminster.

I recently paid 150 dollars for a friends birthday cake, and with the high price came high expectations. Needless to say I was very disappointed with what I received. The cake was dry, and the fondant was cracking and looked very brittle. It looked like it had been sitting out all night. I emailed them giving instructions for the design of the cake and didn't get a reply back after a day and a half, I had to call and repeat what I had emailed to them. I asked for a black and white checkerboard pattern along the bottom of the cake and was disappointed when they only added black checkers, as well as a fondant car to go on top. The car looked like it had been sat on, and in the end it looked like something a 5 year old kid would make out of play dough. I asked them to add a flag but the flag looked like it was going to fall off and overall the detailing on the cake was poorly done. When my guests saw the cake they laughed and thought I paid 40 bucks for it, that it was an overpayment and I was too embarrassed to tell them I paid almost 4 times more than that. In the end I was very disappointed with the service and I can't say I'd recommend them to my friends or anyone at all.

I ordered a custom cake for my daughter’s birthday and when I showed up to pick up. The woman at the front desk told me I was too early but when I looked at my order receipt I was on time. When I described the cake I ordered she looked at me blankly and had no idea which cake I was talking about. So she went to the back to “see.” She never came back from the back to speak to me by sent someone else instead to explain to me. I was told there was an error in their system and my cake wasn’t ready and then asked if I could come back at 2pm. I wasn’t able to nor do I think it’s appropriate to ask the customer to drive all the way back for a cake they forgot to make! I asked if they could deliver it after it was made to which they agreed and I was thankful for. Then when it was time to eat the cake all the guests and I couldn’t believe the amount of sugar that was put into it. I literally had to throw out the entire cake and nobody ate their piece either. My daughter was really looking forward to her birthday cake and I literally had to put it down the trash. I’ve called them to let them know all of this only to be told that they can’t do anything about it. I’ve tried emailing as well but nobody has gotten back to me yet or cares to it seems. Basic customer service or even the service alone is so hard to find now adays that even a win on a baking show doesn’t hold much value anymore. Such a disappoint...

Wish we had read the low rating reviews before we ordered our custom cake...

I agree with previous low rating reviews that mentioned the following issues as well:

The cake was excessively sweet and thick in the worst way. Almost everyone removed their buttercream icing and our compost bin was full of icing after.

The box was not the right size and sturdiness for the size/weight of the cake. In our opinion the lack of quality in their packaging suggests they don't care about the customers experience once the product leaves the store.

Our experience:

We ordered a custom cake over a month in advance. Then we showed up on time to pick up the cake, and it was not ready.

The young guy walked to the back section to get our cake and I overheard him and another female employee discussing an issue about our cake order. The young guy returned to the front to tell me "it will be ready shortly" and dissapeared into the back again. I ended up waiting at least 11 mins for them to finish whatever they didn't complete.

When we were actually shown the cake it did not compare to what we asked for and what we already fully paid for. But we had no time to ask for them to make changes before our event. Overall a disappointment. And would NOT recommend this bakery for...
