Attn: Owner/Manager, Chef/Hostess/Server at Kathmandu Grill (Delta/Surrey)
FYI. Here's a TIP: when customers give your place business, and travel to your restaurant from the other side of town - it's a profit to your business be it for " take-out" or dine-in, delivery etc.
With that being said, if I am ordering something from your restaurant menu "to go" - you're charging me for the item and it's only right that i pay for the menu-item that I order for take-out.
This doesn't entail a customer to also provide a tip as well. Unless of course I chose to dine-in and use your restaurants facility and personal server. Then of course its common-sense to leave a service tip behind. However, if a customer is ordering something to go and is not using the server experience that you offer or your restaurant facility for dining in for that matter it doesn't give you or your employees the right to screw up the customers order deliberately out of spite because a tip was not added on Mr. Kathmandu Grill owner/personnel/chef/server. I always order from the vegetarian options, specifically, the vegetarian soy or veggie wings. I was ultimately disrespected by the host/staff as she messed up my order for take-out. Ive had to deal with her inattention and lack thereof on more than one occasion already. It's unprofessionally disrespectful from a customer service stand point. Not to mention juvenile behaviour at that. I would order from your restaurant regularly on different occasions. The Hostesses in the past were active listeners except for the one working there now (short female with a mix of black/blonde hair of Nepali descent). Maybe somebody oughta tell her if ya don't like working there -QUIT! But Don't go out of your way to purposely screw up a customer's orders, especially if they have, specifically, mentioned they don't eat Meat or flesh if you will. And always order the same veggie wings over the phone and in person. The host/server needs to learn how to pay attention and confirm customer's orders more diligently instead of being negligent in action. Not only that but also taking the initiative to respect certain diet restrictions when it comes to a customer's individual faith. I have ordered food from here several times in the past & present as well as mentioned that i am vegetarian . I don't consume meat and always order the vegetarian wings- the chef/owner know this as well. The new host/server working there whom I've been dealing with more so recently, however, either refuses to comprehend with my request or is lacking active-listening skills in a workplace or may be she feels the urge to mess up my order because it's something personal beyond me. Which is questionable?.. Regardless of which?...This place crossed the line by showing there true colors and disrespect towards my food order. You lost me as a loyal customer regardless. Not worth the time or cost of food service.
PS. I also returned the wrong food item at your restaurant as a Tip. Thank you for the service the few handful of times I ordered take out. I Will not be giving this place business anymore. Service quality has gone downhill without a doubt...
Read moreI've never had nepalese food before so I was very excited to try out a new cuisine. We ordered quite a few dishes: momo combo (picture below- it's a bit blurry, sorry!), calamari, lamb biryani, and chicken manchurian noodle combo. The momo combo had 4 shrimp, 4 pork and 4 chicken momos and they were absolutely delicious and very unique! I tasted a lot of indian spices which is something I've never tasted in any sort of dumpling so it was a wonderful surprise. The shrimp momos were less flavorful but still just as delicious. The calamari was a bit disappointing. It was mostly crunchy pieces of batter, some tiny rubbery squid rings and fried jalapenos and peppers with what seemed like a mayo based sauce on the side. I wouldn't recommend the calamari here, try something more unique instead! The lamb biryani was soooo yummy. It came with a yogurt sauce to help cool down the spiciness and it was all around very delicious. Finally, the chicken manchurian noodle combo. The chicken did not taste at all of what I had expected. Given that it is also an indo-chinese restaurant, I think I was probably expecting it to taste sweet but the gravy on the dish was very savoury and a bit sour. For me it was very unexpected but it was still pretty good! The noodles were very reminiscent of chow mein noodles so i enjoyed those as well. The service is wonderful here. We had asked for help from one of the workers (may have been the owner) and he helped guide us through the menu. The price, based on the items we got, were very fair! I would absolutely come here again just to try some other specialty momos, especially since we only got the most basic ones! Highly recommend if you're looking to transition from your usual cuisine to a brand new cuisine and are willing to explore...
Read moreI go to Kathmandu very often. I like the food, yesterday me and my friend went in there and we ordered some food. We finished our food and there was this menu sitting on the table that clearly says ‘If the server does not mention the deal of the day you will get a gulab jamun for free’. So not to be rude but I called the server very nicely I said you guys did not mention it so as per this we will get a free gulab jamun. She said oh I will tell you now, I said but that does not make sense we are were here for 2-3 hours we finished all our food. She said no no this works after you pay but you guys were still eating so we did not mention it you. I said okay I get it but why is it not written here then. You should mention it very clearly that after your payment. Like isn’t it common sense, why would a customer get drinks once they finish and are ready to pay. Anyways listening to this, a lady from the Bar came (super rude), she was like you can get gulab jamun after you pay. I said I mentioned it you then only you told me otherwise you wouldn’t have mentioned it. She took our plates, gave us such a bad attitude and very rudely said it’s okay we will give you. ITS NOT ABOUT GULAB JAMUN, ITS ABOUT BEING FAIR. It’s not like I have never had a piece of gulab jamun in my life. But if you have written something and don’t follow that, on top of that it’s you mistake and you are being rude that is so bad. I really like the place the only problem I had was the attitude. I also work in customer service, just accept the fact that you made the mistake if not atleast don’t give us an attitude, it is not going out of your pocket. I hope they change the menu and...
