Had a group of 12 coming in to eat. Called ahead to confirm they could seat 12, they told us they were booked for reservations but to come in and they would see if they could seat us.
We go in, tell them we have a group of 12 people coming, and they ask if we have a reservation. We said no and explained the previous phone call, stating that we were told to come in. There was maybe two or three tables seated in the entire bar.
They told us they had a reservation for 12 at 8, which was 2 hours later, which is not what we said or asked. Then the guy behind the counter tells us “do you think you guys could fit on the stage?“ … my guy… YOURE THE EMPLOYEE. I’m telling you we have 12 people coming. Can you fit 12 people? You should be answering that question, not me. The entire time they were acting like we had caused this huge inconvenience for simply asking a question we were told to ask. The attitude from the bartender was hilariously bad.
at the end after we decided this awful service was not worth the time and we would go eat (Don Cherry’s, which immediately did everything they possibly could to accommodate our group - I’d recommend there instead), the bartender literally told us to call ahead next time. Was dude even listening to me?
Id give this 0 stars if I could. I will never spend a cent there - this was my first and definitely only experience with this awful customer service.

Read moreWe went to Steel City for dinner while travelling to Sydney because there weren’t many other restaurants open at 9pm. My husband ordered a burger and waffle fries and he said that both were phenomenal, but my salad with chicken breast was pretty disappointing and it felt like my meal was thrown together in a hurry with whatever bland piece of chicken they had “available” and it wasn’t worth the extra fee to add it to my meal. I can’t say I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for a meal on the “healthier” side, but their other food was tasty - especially the waffle fries.
As for the service, it was a bit weird. We were told to “sit anywhere”, so we chose a seat and ordered drinks while checking out the food menu - when the bartender brought over the drinks we were told we had to settle that tab immediately because we were sitting in the bar section (unbeknownst to us since the whole restaurant is one big room) and we were told we couldn’t have our drinks on the same tab as our food tab. This was a bit weird and confusing since the bartender told us to sit wherever we wanted.
For the record, the staff were friendly, it was just a confusing and slightly frustrating situation to have to pay multiple tabs instead...
Read moreMy family and I had a really disappointing experience here. I called ahead to check if the restaurant was open, as Montana’s had closed due to the heat wave two days ago. Instead of answering my simple question, the older woman who answered the phone abruptly hung up on me.
We decided to go in person anyway, and that same lady came up to us asking if we just called and said the kitchen closed soon. I spoke up and said “Yeah I did just call and I got hung up on”, she then casually admitted to hanging up on me—but claimed she had called me back, which never happened. I checked my phone multiple times just to be sure. That makes no sense in the first place. Ended up going back to Glace Bay for better service.
This kind of customer service is completely unacceptable. I don’t appreciate being dismissed like that, and I definitely don’t appreciate being lied to, especially in front of my family. Unfortunately, this left a really bad impression, and we won’t...
