Kathleen's Grill — Restaurant in Terrace

Hands down best place in town for breakfast! Let me save you the time, energy, money and taste buds and tell you to skip any other place in Terrace. Just go to Kathleen's. We stayed in Terrace for a few days along a road trip and have tried Denny's, white spot & McDonald's. Denny's served bad turkey on a club sandwich that was inedible, white spot's eggs benedict Hollandaise tastes purely like lemon and was inedible and McDonald's got the order wrong, as many people before have stated. Our last day we tried white spot and ended up sending the food back, leaving and coming back to Kathleen's. It's absolutely delicious, consistent food, love the diner atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Jane was our server the second time through, I ordered a malt milkshake and she brought it over with 2 straws for my partner and I to share and joked about the old time diners and movies and it was just the cutest and such a sweet touch, especially in this atmosphere. On first glance it seemed like a nice place 🤷🏽‍♀️ We waited 40 minutes for breakfast all the while watching order after order of takeout being prepared and picked up. Three meals sat at the pick up window for 5 minutes while the last two were prepared so were barely warm. When the order came, one look and you could see the pancake had a hair embedded in it. We sent them back to the kitchen where a long discussion ensued. 3 minutes later the cook came out and asked “do you want the pancakes remade, because it’ll be a while” we asked how long. They said 5 to 8 minutes. Guess they figured we should accept the hair. The food appears good but honestly how do you know what’s in it or their cleanliness protocols when they ask “do you want it remade?” We all chewed small bites slowly to be vigilant. I've been ordering through Sypce for a while and finally went in a few times, the service was OK we went back March 31st right before noon and took the booth (the two seats beside us were empty) got seated, they provided us with coloring for our two babies (a BOY and a girl) we were ready to place an order, she skipped us and went to the table next to us. I waved at her while she was behind the counter, I seen her looking around but she never looked toward us. This wasn't the first time it felt like we felt service wasn't good towards us, first nations family but we decided to let it slide because the good is soo good.
