Something's been on my mind for a couple of days...Jord and I were in Terrace and planning to have a quick lunch before boarding a flight to Vancouver. We went to White Spot restaurant. There were only 3 tables occupied when we entered and as we were being seated at one of the booths, 2 of the employees were standing near a booth where a young man and young lady were seated and an older woman was standing and being rudely told to leave the restaurant. The woman asked why she was being made to leave and stood firm awaiting a response. She was told it was because she was homeless! You could see the shock and shame that nearly crumpled this woman and how the young people just slumped in their seats! The young woman stood up and put her arms around her aunty and they walked out of the restaurant. The young man just sat there slumped and near tears. Not believing what I heard, I asked the young man why she was being made to leave and he confirmed that it was because she was homeless!! This was a woman who was cleanly dressed and respectful even as she asked their reasons for making her leave. At this point, Jord returned from the bathroom and I told her what just occurred and that I would not be eating at this establishment. We both left. One of the employees who was standing with the woman demanding the "homeless" person leave, tried to call us back and I informed them that I would no longer be supporting their business due to their obvious and illegal prejudice! I informed them they had no right to treat people such as they did and they could be reported to BC Human Rights for their actions. The mouthpiece was at the hotel registration desk (probably reporting to her boss) and I told her the same thing I told the other employee - who tried to shush me by saying the woman was only following orders from their boss! The really sad part is that these were people of colour doing these awful things to our people!! The other 2 tables in the restaurant were noticeably silent as we challenged the actions of the employees!! As we exited, the poor woman and her niece were both outside in tears. Jord hugged the woman and affirmed that she did not deserve the treatment she received...that she did nothing wrong and that we were so sorry this happened to her!!
White Spot..DO BETTER! Rid yourself of this racist and prejudicial behaviour and build compassion for those...
Read moreI do not reccomend this place at all. Let's start this off by saying this is the 2nd chance I have given this place. It will never happen again. Ordered mimosa for breakfast it came in cracked dirty glasses. The utensils also dirty. We ordered classic eggs Benny and avocado bowl with eggs on the side, the server had to come back to our table several times as she's couldn't remember our order even though she wrote it down. Our food took forever to come out and was very unappealing. Avocados were well expired mushy and brown. We got charged for our hollandaise sauce as an extra even though the meal came with it. Had to ask if i could have my toast that came with the order aswell my 11 year old could make a better breakfast. We sat drink less for over 45 min while the staff was no where to be seen. To say the least I will never come back to this establishment and I'm hoping I don't develop food posing for what we did cosume. Wrnt into the ladies bathroom before I left the smell was somthing out of post apocalyptic moldy nightmare. Then trying to get out of the tiny parking lot was a...
Read moreAlright, so if you're staying at the Days Inn attached to the White Spot in Terrace, let me tell you, you are in for a serious treat when it comes to breakfast! This place deserves a full five stars just for that morning spread alone.
Honestly, the delicious and hearty breakfast that's included if you stay at the hotel is probably the best continental breakfast at a hotel that I've ever stayed at. I'm not even kidding. They go above and beyond the usual muffins and sad fruit. Everything was great – the variety, the quality, just everything.
There was lots of food, so you could really load up and start your day right. And can we talk about the endless hash browns? That's a game-changer right there. They kept them coming, and they were perfectly crispy and seasoned. It's a lot of hash browns, in the best possible way.
It's such a pleasant surprise to find such a high-quality, filling breakfast included with your stay. It seriously made getting up in the morning something to look forward to. White Spot, you crushed it with...
