It was immediately clear that baristas didn’t know what they were doing. I ordered a pumpkin chai latte (a highlighted menu item) and the barista seemed very unclear on what that was. When paying, she then attempted to scam me by making me pay twice even though the pay machine listed the correct total and approved the payment. She insisted I hadn’t paid, and if it hadn’t immediately shown up in my transaction history that was proof. However I have often experienced a delay between the act of paying and the payment showing up in my transaction history. Sure enough, the transaction showed up an hour or so later. (Screenshot attached as proof.) Now once my friends and I got our drinks, we all noticed that the absolute minimum of flavouring was put in our drinks. My pumpkin chai was just chai-tasting. Only one friend who is a regular at a different location and has tried a regular chai confirmed there was a very slight difference. (To be fair, the chai was quite good, just not exactly what i ordered. I also got a lemon scone, which was both very big and very tasty.) The other drinks we got were a frozen strawberry lemonade, which was essentially coloured ice. Barely any strawberry flavour, no lemonade at all. The last drink was a peach lemonade, which had no peach flavour at all. We had to ask the barista to add peach syrup. Overall a letdown considering it wasn’t our first time visiting, so the decline in quality was noticeable. Lastly, another patron had their infant crawling on the floor unattended in front of the door and none of the the staff seemed alarmed. I cannot emphasize how young this baby looked; no older than a year. We are unlikely to return.

Was meeting up with a gf and found this place on the map that was between her place and mine. Did not know it existed, but it was on her list of places to try. Lots of parking available. They have massive glass windows that let in lots of light and makes the small space feel even bigger. Counted the seats, can fit 32 people. They had tables set up for groups of 2 and 4. Plus two sets of leather chairs with a low table along the window. They had 4 high bar chairs available as well as a conference table type that could sit 8 people. Something different and I have not seen at another Café before. They have their own ceramic cups, saucers and plates along with monogrammed napkins and cold plastic cups. The design was simple and quite pretty. On the inside rim of the mugs it says Proudly Canadian, cute personal touch to add to their design. The white and specific shade of blue they chose reminds me of old school China cups. I ordered their Maple Macchiato and a Maple Danish. Asked that the pastry be heated up. My friend ordered a Decafe Latte and also a Maple Danish heated up. Both drinks were made promptly and we picked up the pastries shortly after. Our drinks were tasty but the Maple Danish took our hearts! It was amazing and I could have eaten four more. There was a good mix of people at the Café when we arrived. From solo people, to friends meeting up to catch up, a few people working on laptops and as we left five senior friends got together to enjoy some drinks and treats. Loved how much others enjoyed the space as well.

I personally had a great experience at Waves Coffee House. Their coffee and creative new ways to make lattes has enthralled me. I highly encourage Waves to keep going with their ideas. Their blue spirulina latte as well as their lavender latte were incredible! I want to rate them a five star just for the food. In terms of service, they are a self-serve cafe, there's no problem in that. Although, when we were done with our cups, we saw people leave their cups all around the coffee shop. It really was unappealing to the look and feel of the place. Secondly, it added confusion as to what I was supposed to do or where I had to leave my empty cup. I just went back to the counter to leave it. Most places, will leave a sign or let you know in order to make your experience easier. The other thing is, despite having such a large area, the ambiance did not have proper seating arrangements. There was a weird desk chair that's used in offices, at the table. I would say the design of the place as well as the aesthetic didn't really match the quality of beverages the cafe had to offer. Overall, I thought Waves was great. However, the ambiance could have been much improved.
