Mr.Sub — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

Stopped here on my way to the airport yesterday as I was just in town for the day on a business trip. I have never had such great service at a fast-food chain! All staff were incredibly friendly but there was one gentleman who really stood out. I am not sure if he is the owner, but he greeted my coworker and I with a big smile asked how our day was before taking our order. The place had a steady flow of customers and there was no delay, everything moved quick and smooth down the line of building the sub and paying for my order, so kudos to all staff for their efficiency, but the gentleman I am referring to had overheard me telling my coworker about the big pickles they had and how I love them and always go to the farmers market in Calgary (home) to get them. I had opted out of getting a pickle since we were kind of in a rush and on our way to the airport but as I was about to walk away from the counter with my order he reaches over and hands me a pickle and says ' I heard you talking about the pickles, this is for you" and wished us both safe travels home as we finished our subs and headed out. Just an overall great experience that I have rarely had when at fast food chains. The place was so clean, the ingredients were all fresh, and sub was delicious! I would highly recommend this place and will return if/when I ever go back to...

This is an update: Was recently back in TBay Jan. 25th another terrific tuna sub thankyou John that cookie was gone in short order 🙆‍♀️ Kudos to the other fellow working then he was a champion at cleaning mighty team see you in May The Mr Sub location on Arthur Street has 2 stellar employees working there On Wednesday, Dec 15th, 2021, my son and I went there It's been quite some time since we've had a sub from Mr.Sub ~ Kiersey and Luke were working on Wednesday evening. They were both engaging and welcoming and made 3 of the best subs ever We couldn't wait to get back to the farm we're staying at while in Thunder Bay area and chow down on them my son said it's the best meatball sub he's ever had the marinara sauce is bueno 🍅 and my tuna sub was perfect the tuna was delicious & not too heavy with mayo the buns were also delicious ~ toppings were fresh. Anyway, we had looked forward to stopping for subs before heading west and we were not disappointed with our choice, that's for sure☃️ Thankyou Luke and Kiersey ~ you are 2 terrific ambassadors for Mr....

We were in late one evening, a bit less than an hour before closing time. The three guys that were working there made our whole day! After a LONG day of road travel, exhausted and needing a quick bite, these guys were awesome! Instead of sulking because a customer comes in so near closing, they jumped right in with service as energetic and friendly as if we were the first customer of the day instead of the last! They explained their menu to us, told us the popular local favorites and answered questions. The food was delicious! Much better than we’d come to expect from sub shops in the southern US. We were only there for one night, but if we’d been staying longer, I believe we would have eaten here every day. Later, before we left, they gave us their own recommendations of things to see the next day before we left town. That is the kind of service that is lacking in a lot of places these days.
