When we heard a new Vietnamese cafe was opening up in the neighbourhood, we had to try it. It’s accessible by TTC and would be stroller friendly.
The drinks
They had a nice variety of ice and hot drinks from caffeinated beverages like your classic Vietnamese ice coffee to some iced teas like Lychee. They mentioned that they get their coffee beans imported from Vietnam. What was interesting was their other offerings like the Egg Coffee or even the Durian Coffee. I tried their durian coffee drink as a cold choice. I was worried that it would be stringy from the texture of the durian but it came out smooth and creamy. It’s well balanced and not overly sweet.
The food
I didn’t get a chance to try their warm food offerings like their Banh mi, but it looked like a good variety of grab and go sandwiches. I tried their classic tiramisu. I liked that it wasn’t overly too sweet or too saturated. Firm on the sides but the centre was nice and soft.
The space
The space is small but there’s a good amount of seating and natural lighting. The decor is nice and the music isn’t overly loud. It would make a great space to sit and read a book or catch up with friends. They do have wifi and some limited...
Read moreI was excited to check out this place, as it was trending on Google. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed and underwhelmed. I’ve eaten many bahn mis in my life, both traditional and fusion, and this was, paws down, the worst bahn mi of any sort I’ve ever had.
We ordered the beef and the BBQ pork bahn mi. There was hardly any meat in the beef bahn mi; the BBQ pork was marginally better. It definitely was nowhere as generous as what other reviews and photos seem to suggest. The sandwich filling was 50% shredded carrot—just not enough meat to sink my teeth into.
The next issue was that the sandwiches were extremely wet. The pâté was very oily and melty, the shredded carrots were wet, and they added a TON of sweet chili sauce (for the love of DOG, why?). The baguette was basically soaked through, making it a real doggone mess.
Service was slow (20 min wait for 2 sandwiches). I left hungry and disappointed. Would not return and would not recommend. What a ruff experience!

Read more🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Must-Try for Real Vietnamese Coffee Lovers! +84 Coffee Shop is an absolute gem! If you're a fan of authentic traditional Vietnamese coffee, this place is a must-visit. I’ve tried egg coffee in Hanoi, and believe me—+84’s original egg coffee is even better. The egg cream is incredibly rich, velvety, and just melts in your mouth. It’s truly next-level. The Banh Mi with fish is something special. Super crispy on the outside, with a flavor explosion from the lemongrass and dill—it’s unique, aromatic, and honestly better than any Banh Mi I had in Vietnam. A perfect balance of crunch and flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and takes you back to the feel of an old, traditional Vietnamese coffee house. It’s like stepping into a little piece of Vietnam’s past. The owner couple is also super friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even warmer. If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese coffee experience, don’t miss this place. Highly...
