Brass Taps Pizza Pub — Restaurant in Toronto

I really liked this place. Been there last night for a birthday party. The place has nice archtectural features and kind of a pub/old tavern vibe. We got there around 7pm and there were few people, we walked towards the back of the bar and they had the patio available for all of us for celebrate the birthday. Patio is heated so it was not that cold despite evening chill. We ordered the a couple bottles of wine, which was not the best Cabernet I had but drinkable and light. Make sure with the hostess what's available as whatever you see on the menu for Taps & Wine is not necessary what they have. Plus, they had a Barone Montalto for 30 dollars (which they didn't have) and they charged us 34 dollars each bottle. So that was not expected.

We also order some food: chicken wings were kind of a small portion and dry, but the falvour was good. Cesar salad was also good but definetly not worth the money.

The space is nice, the waiter was nice too but somehow she was not checking in with us as often as we expected, i had to go and order from the counter at least 5 times. I guess they were pretty busy and i didn't really see much of a staff if not for 1bartender and 4chefs.

If you're going to cancel people's orders on Uber Eats because they add multiple on-sale items, don't offer deals at all, it's bad business practice. When I'm waiting for food to arrive for my family and I then check my phone 30min later and realize the order was cancelled 20minutes in, it really throws a wrench in our plans... Please remove your deals if you don't intend to honour them.

I realize that you might think I'm cheap to order multiple on-sale items but please realize a chicken wrap shouldn't cost $16.50 to begin with, nor should a small bowl of chili cost $10.50. I've eaten at your restaurant before and am familiar with the portions.

Perhaps I'm vastly underestimating your operating/overhead costs and am being unreasonable but I also think it's unreasonable to offer something on your menu then cancel the order 20min later. This happens consistently by the way and anyone reading this can try it right now in the app... It's not a one off thing or I wouldn't be writing this review. Please at least add a note in the description of your on-sale items to say what constitutes a valid order for it not to be cancelled, this would save everyone time. It's better to be pro-active then retroactive when dealing with...

When me and my wife walked into this bar, we fell in love with it. You can feel the good energy inside this bar. We had been in there 3 times and if it wasn't for the fact that we live quite far from it, we would be weekly regulars.

The barman really knows his beer and gives amazing recommendations - he even recognises us now and knows exactly what we want to have.

Their pizzas are amazing, they are always served with additional plate, olive oil and seasonings such as salt, Pepper, and chilli flakes which just add to the flavour of the pizza. Just to add that the pizzas come really quickly - you dont have to wait long at all. It is probably the best pizza I have ever had. It's fresh, it has a good amount of cheese and toppings. You really dont need an additional sauce to it because its very flavourful.

The music is good as the barman is in charge of it and adjusts it as needed. No matter what day we come, we always enjoy ourselves. The people that go to this bar also have good energy and it shows. This is definitely a go to bar when you want to just have a chat and sip on the best canadian beer.
