Sunshine Wholesome Market — Restaurant in Toronto

Sunshine makes/creates some wonderful smoothies, sandwiches and bowls however, these great food items do not make up for their poor customer service. I have been in the hospitality industry working FOH for almost 15 years and can confidently say that their FOH people skills are lacking. I hate having to go in and order food from these employees.

I am a new mom and was having a rough sad morning so I thought a walk and smoothie would cheer me up. Upon leaving the store I felt worse because the staff barely acknowledged me. Wouldn’t look me in the eye and acted like I was being demanding like how dare she order something for Us!! Unfortunately this is not the only time I have left feeling this way. For years now that I have been going there and leaving feeling a little worse than when I went in. Today was my last day.

I have given this place so many chances trying to eat healthy but they make so many mistakes and misjudgements with their cooking. Today I spent about 70 dollars on two wraps, two cauliflower side dishes, and two brownies - the wraps tasted like plastic had been accidentally put into the press with the wraps, the cauliflower was about 1/4 of the way full of that with the sauce forgotten, only the brownie was ok. Uber offered no refund and said to leave a review and hope for help, so here I am. The owner here is quick to apologize and slow to make amends. Last time this happened I was offered a credit and the staff refused to let me use it without waiting for an hour because of “paying orders”. This place needs a steady kitchen manager NOW. i’m really disappointed with my bowl i ordered today. i got a half and half bowl, which states it comes with mixed greens, but it came with cheap, old iceberg lettuce. the lettuce was rusty coloured and the lemon had a sticker on it. the sweet potatoes were good but i got like 4 pieces lol. i come here often as i live in the neighbourhood but it seems as though the quality has gone downhill. the size has also shrunk while the price has gone up ($19 including tax for a bowl). i understand everything is getting more expensive but i just feel ripped off! the staff can be hit or miss, and they’re always hiring which can be a red flag of bad treatment of workers. i really want to support local and i used to love this place but food i got today was...
