Ajisen Ramen is a must-try for ramen lovers!

Food

The place to go if you're craving some really good ramen is Ajisen Ramen. Their ramen tonkotsu is incredible! The long cooking of the pork bones results in a deeply flavorful broth that is incredibly rich and creamy. The noodles have the ideal texture—perfectly chewy without being overly soft. What about the garnishes? Perfectly pertinent. This dish is incredible—the marinated egg with its runny yolk and the chashu pork practically melt in your mouth.

But there are other attractions besides ramen. The dumplings, or gyoza, are also delicious. They have a perfectly balanced dipping sauce and are perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Additionally, If you're into fried rice, the yakimeshi is highly recommended as it has a rich flavour that goes well with ramen.

Provided:

This place has excellent service. The staff is really welcoming and kind as soon as you walk in. If you're unsure about what to order, they do a great job of guiding you through the menu, and they take orders quickly. They are able to maintain order even in high traffic situations. Never do you feel like you have to wait a long time for your food, and they check you in without being intrusive.

The atmosphere

Ajisen Ramen exudes a laid-back vibe. The decor is straightforward and uncluttered, with a few stylish Japanese accents that give it a homey, real feel. The lighting is ideal—it's neither too bright nor too dim—and soothing background music contributes to the overall ambiance. It's a great place to grab a bowl of ramen by yourself or to hang out with friends.

All things considered, Ajisen Ramen is unquestionably a place to visit if you enjoy ramen or simply want a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food, excellent service, and a laid-back atmosphere make for a perfect evening meal. I wholeheartedly advise...

Ajisen Ramen Scarborough: Where Red Meets Ramen

First Impressions: Tucked into one of the busiest plazas at Midland Ave. and McNicol Ave., Ajisen Ramen in Scarborough makes a striking first impression. The restaurant's love for red is evident, both in its vibrant interior and its logo. What caught my eye, though, were the traditional Japanese paintings at the top walls, adding a touch of authenticity to the ambiance. The staff's uniforms also added a nice dash of style to the Ajisen experience.

Experience: My overall experience at Ajisen was enjoyable, though nothing particularly stood out on my multiple visits. Sometimes, that's exactly what you need from a reliable ramen spot. However, there was a minor hiccup. Our beef teppanyaki and steak didn't arrive at the same time as our ramen, and by the time they did, we were almost done with our ramen bowls. A small improvement in timing could make a big difference in the overall dining experience.

Food: Here's what we got

Ajisen Ramen with Miso Broth: A classic choice that delivers the comforting warmth of ramen, perfect for the fall and winter.

Steak: While flavorful, it leaned a bit too salty for me.

Beef Teppanyaki: This dish emerged as the favorite on our table, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Overall: If you're on the hunt for a ramen spot to cozy up in as the fall chill sets in, Ajisen Ramen should definitely be on your list. While there may be room for minor improvements in service timing, the inviting ambiance and solid menu options make it a reliable choice to ward off the...

We walked into Ajisen that night with hopeful intentions — not just to eat, but to celebrate. It was meant to be a small joy, a break from cooking, and a treat for all of us. With it getting late and options thinning, we chose Ajisen for its convenient late hours. That’s probably the only thing that went right.

We were drawn in by a meal promo for four — it seemed like a good deal at first glance. But from the start, things began to fall apart. The takoyaki, which we were all looking forward to, was unavailable. Instead, we were given tofu. No other option. Just a quiet substitution that felt more like settling than serving.

We made a simple request: to have the pork on the side. But that too was denied — “too busy,” they said. Odd, considering the place wasn’t even half full. A strange kind of busy, the kind that doesn’t involve taking care of your diners.

The miso ramen, the main event of the meal, was so salty it was almost inedible. I tried to finish it — really tried — but ended up pushing it aside, defeated. The rest of the items in the set weren’t much better, and we left more plates unfinished than not. The joy we hoped for never arrived.

There are bad meals, and then there are meals that feel sad because of what they could have been. This one was the latter. What was meant to be a quiet celebration turned into a reminder that sometimes, even comfort food can let you down.

We left full of regret rather than food. Ajisen, that night, gave us one of our...

Went there last night. Disappointed 👎😒😓 because the server seems did not like me just giving 12% tips. Face changed immediately, didn't say thank you after I paid and did not say bye to us where I heard her said same thing to other tables. Also at the beginning, server forgot to clean our table prior serving me and my friend (customers left and we asked to sit right after from another larger table - it was the only table available) 😐🤔. I ordered spicy 🔥 beef ramen; noodle 🍜 was ok, thought would suprise me more. Beef portion seems a bit less and the soup base was salty. Would recommend to use organic green onion since I couldn't smell or taste it. The only things I like were the egg and the red pepper 🌶️ - it was a bit spicy 🔥 and I told my friend about it. The server stared at me two times and gave me a look of "then why you order a spicy one?! Now that I have to give you more water 😒...” But I actually didn't ask for more of anything and she didn't bring us anything too. What I did was just hand sanitized my hands prior to start eating. I didn't even bother them to show me where the hand sanitizer was. My friend ordered curry 🐔 chicken rice and the chicken was oily with dark yellowish brown color. Won't go back again due to the poor customer service. 🤔🤢👎. (The one in Yonge is much better but I don't think I would like to visit Ajisen Ramen 🍜 for at least a year. Very poor service😥. I felt discomfort of the environment).
