I’ll start with the fact that the food was pretty good and our table servers were wonderful and pleasant but this place is PRICEY. It’s $42 for All You Can Eat per person on a Saturday night, PLUS an automatic 10% gratuity on top of that for a party of 6+. Not to mention this restaurant is so wasteful with food, if you don’t finish the stuff you order, they charge you to take it to go, but they have no problem throwing it in the garbage for free… I went out of my way to book a reservation a week in advance for a party of 8+, and drove all the way from Oshawa to celebrate and bring a large group of people to eat and drink at your establishment… There was absolutely NO REASON to be treated the way I was by your hostess, she was completely out of line. I’m not sure if she was having a bad night or if she regularly speaks to customers in such an aggressive way because either way, it was inappropriate and uncalled for. I get that this place gets EXTREMELY busy, especially on a Saturday night and you want to be able to seat people, but it was my birthday, coming from out of town and I booked well in advance. So, there should been no reason to treat me with a grumpy attitude on my arrival. The reservation was for 7:30pm, at 7:31pm I received a phone call from your hostess asking where I was? Really? You guys are located within one of the busiest plaza’s in Scarborough, especially in the evening. I was looking for parking!! You could have at least given 5 minutes courtesy to me instead of immediately phoning wanting to give my table away… We finally find parking and come inside and your hostess starts talking to me as if we were 30 minutes late, and then she asks again how many, and I said 1-2 people may not end up coming from the original amount of people I told her which was like 11 and this really irritated her. I was honestly taken aback at how unprofessional and childish this hostess was being, I’ve never seen or experienced any professional person literally stand and argue with their customer over the number of guests… 11 minus 2 guests is still NINE people coming in. Give me a freaking break. How can someone control others? If they said their coming in the morning and then they decide they aren’t in the afternoon you punish your customer for this? She was talking like she wasn’t going give us the table. When she was going back and forth with me we really should’ve just walked out right there, but we stayed. Then she tells us to go wait over on the side for some reason?? Only until my fiancée went over after a few minutes and asked her if we could go sit down now, she finally said okay? That made no sense either. 2-stars for mediocre food, pricey, wasteful and unprofessional hostess. Would’ve given less if your servers weren’t on the ball. If I do visit a Chako’s location again, it likely will not...

Basically Gyubee was full house and put up a “last call” sign…. very random

I never tried a Chako in my whole life up until last night. So “Lets go to Chako”! Oh boy….what a big mistake (numerous reasons)

Walked in and a random staff directed us to a random table. Pretty much the place was empty.

The server/staff was very very impatient and pressure me and my wife to order. I wanted to understand how the place and menu work. He poorly described it to us, still didn’t really understand. It was like whatever, We were hungry so just ordered a bunch of stuff……

This ghetto old school grill table. Pretty crappy. Just remember one thing. Once your grill top becomes black and dirty with ashes. You are done. They will not change or clean for you. Midway, the staff would come over lower the fire and pour water into it. Because….. I don’t really know. But the fumes went up to me after his action.

Sushi rolls were big, the sushi nigiris were thin sliced. The meat were very salty since they were soaked in a marinade mix. Seafood were okay. Sides dishes were soso, more on the salty side. Only sauce they offer, Soy sauce.

The server wasn’t helpful at all, pretty much he wanted to go home. So pressured me to order more cause kitchen is closing. Anyways the grill was black after the first round of meat and seafood

Forced us to pay because the cashier is closing.

Then when he brings us the bill, he then explain there is a 12% service fee. He also let us know that we can tip him using the check-out device on top of this hidden fee mentioned above.

Please be aware of this hidden fee of 12% service fee, as well as the staff telling customers to tip more using the bill payment device. As well telling customers to eat faster cause of last call “soon”

Sushi & Rolls - 2/5. (never gave any wasabi/ginger Meat - 2/5 (Salty) Seafood - 2/5 (tasteless Server/Staff - 0.5/5 (Needs to be more informant in the beginning, not when you pay Establishment - 0/5 ( Hidden fees!, soso food, crappy menu and limited menu options.

Expect to pay $50cdn per person, Help their boss pay for their staff with your money by tipping 2 times. The server was pushy, rude, until he brings you the device to checkout and he letting you know the establishment takes that 12% service fee. And we should tip a second time.

Gyubee (fullhouse vs. Chako (Practically empty)

Oh yea, bill was like $100 for 2 people

I suggest go else where. or next to them, “Magic Noodle”. At least they are cheaper...

My partner and I decided to go a few days ago for the all you can eat supper. We were seated in the second section to the right. Had a young, male server. We were both BLOWN away with this servers ignorance. We ordered 1 of every meat for 2 of us (2 orders of the beef ribs). The waitress grabbed the paper while I was still filling boxes out, and looked at it and said “wow, you must be starving” to me specifically.

I have struggled with my weight for many years. I have recently found the right diet for me. I realize this isn’t something the waitress would be aware of, HOWEVER I am still noticeably heavier, so having someone ask me if I’m “starving” when I ordered a very reasonable amount of food for TWO people, was insulting. Common sense, he shouldn’t have said that. It wasn’t said as a joke, it was said very demeaning. My partner noticed and said it to me before I even could. It didn’t stop there.. He continued to ask me when the last time I ate was, he laughed at how “hungry” I was. When we were finished eating he asked me not one, two, or three times, but FOUR times if I wanted dessert. I can understand why a server would ask once or twice, but four times? Keep in mind these conversations were ALL directed at me, and not my partner. Tip is included in the bill already. Costed us $100 for 2 people, we still tipped on top of the already included tip, although the ignorant server deserved nothing. Wish I could’ve given the tip to the other gentlemen I’ll mention below..

I have no complaints about the food or the other servers. We had another younger gentlemen help us out and he was phenomenal. Thank you for being the positive in this experience. He wasn’t our server but served us just as much.

We will never be going here again and will continue to share this experience with ANYONE who mentions coming here. No matter what the intentions were with the comments from this ignorant server, it was NOT right at...

I celebrated a friend's birthday at Chako BBQ and experienced a lively, though slightly dark, ambiance perfect for a Friday night out. As an AYCE BBQ spot, it offered an endless array of meats for grilling, alongside sushi, ensuring a feast fit for any appetite. The service was exceptionally attentive, with servers readily available to clear plates, take new orders, and even replace grills to keep the dining experience smooth. While the fountain pop was refreshingly topped up with care, the overly sweet kimchi was a slight miss for my Korean palate. An unexpected twist came with the realization that Friday night counted as the weekend, which meant access to special weekend-only items like sashimi and lamb slices. We discovered this a bit too late and would have appreciated being informed at the beginning of our meal. However, the accommodating staff compensated by giving us two servings of Chapman ice cream instead of one, leaving a sweet lasting impression. Despite the menu’s lack of clarity on what counted as weekend pricing, the overall experience was delightful. Chako BBQ is a solid contender for anyone craving a meat lover's night out with friends.

Looking for a all you can eat Korean Bbq experience? Then put this on your bucket list. Chakos has been around for many years now. We made a reservation for a party of 8. The restaurant was not busy for Canada Day long weekend. Pricing for lunch is only available Saturday, Sunday and holiday: Adult $35.99 Senior 65+ $28.80 Child 5-10 yrs old $25.20. Note there was 15% service charge added to the bill. The servers brought a whole tray full of meat, seafood and veggies. You can choose which ones you want. The best cut they had were the boneless beef tenderloin. The short ribs were pretty good as well. I found the marinade a bit too salty for my liking. Pineapple is a popular item to throw on the grill. It adds some sweetness to offset all the savory meats. You can also order salad, seaweed salad, miso soup, maki rolls. The Korean banchan consists of kimchi, fried tofu, beam sprouts and edamame. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and the service was attentive and prompt. The soft drinks are refillable. I ordered a green tea however they did not offer to refiill it. You can probably skip a meal after these meat fest. Give them a try if you're in Scarborough.

Went on a saturday for the full adult course w my friends! It was like $43 per person, after tips we all paid like $50 lol Pros: - Def worth it for the experience. Had so much fun with my friends - Yummy sushi and dessert (icecream) - Grilling was fun and it was all you can eat! Lots of side dishes and variety - had a full stomach by the end - nice service :) - really pretty restaurant and environment Cons: - Meat all had one flavor? i think they use the same marinade for everything, it got boring after a while - Kinda easy for your meat to drop out of the grill and into a dark void - grill is shaped like a dome so the meat can fall off if you're not careful - personally enjoyed the sushi more than the meat; maybe bbq's just not my style - is advertised as a kbbq. But I found that a lot of kbbq signatures aren't there. like pork belly - pretty expensive in my opinion when you can just buy your own meat and grill it at home for much cheaper. Overall worth it for the experience but as a student i prob won't go again, fun summer experience tho. P.S. Don't grill your pineapple XD
