Angel's Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Toronto

I used to come here as a little girl, back when the elderly gentleman used to run this place with his sons. I returned to Toronto recently to discover it was still open and was so excited to enter their bakery. I came in and was disappointed in the customer service I received. The woman behind the counter (mid 30s and I believe she's one of the wives of the sons) was very cold and clearly did not want to be there. She gave me and my mother a lot of attitude for no reason.. I used to love this place and their delicious food and was excited to introduce my 2 year old daughter to a bakery her mom loved as a little girl, too. The older man was the sweetest and his sons were always so friendly when I used to visit. I miss them as I have core memories from this bakery- walking home every day from elementary school and grabbing a chocolate croissant as a treat, or their massive slices of delicious pizza (they unfortunately don't sell them anymore). This place is one of the few where they serve authentic italian espressos, the admin is very demanding on how the store attendants should serve their coffees and it works. Massimo and Giancarlo are very kind people to their staff, friends and customers, and they will try to remember your preferences if you are a regular. Is a place well known for the people around with a great variety of products from those in the small Hot table, the pastries, breads, to the Deli, which I feel is the strongest part of the bakery. For the youngest, they also serve big slices of pizza for less than $4 (taxes incl.), totally worth it. But they could try and improve the looks of the store, update a little, which is why Im giving 4/5 stars...

TLDR: Delicious desserts and lovely lunches from friendly folks.

Angel's is one of those little spots that you happen to come across every now and then when you are out for a walk that you just can't forget. Whether you are popping in for one of their many delicious pastries or you want a filling lunch meal Angel's has you covered.

They have great deals on slices of pizza, make some absolutely tantalizing sandwiches, and even their roasted veggies are super savory.

The only reason I don't visit more often is the fear that I'll simply have to order one of everything.

Do note they also have a small grocery section that has a great selection of cheeses, meats, milks and pasta.
