I'm doing my best to keep the GOOD VIBES Only feeling going until next year. No lingering on Foods that failed to Deliver. No lingering on Delivery that failed to bring Food! Yeah... that's a thing! LOL!

Look... if you are looking for some great eats, look no further than this place. The Armenian Bistro. I've been here a few times now and this time, I was here because something bad happened and I needed a pick-me-up that no alcohol can do - it's gotta be food!

I've tried the whole gambit of foods here but I always go back to their Tonir (Tandoori) foods. They have this amazing oven that just sears and cooks their meats to perfection.

For lunch this time, I got myself their Pork Shashlik with Rice and Grilled Veggies. Perfection in each juicy bite and it really hit the spot! I was supposed to be somewhere else but plans fell apart and this place was my Pick-Me-UP and it did not disappoint.

The owner and staff here are amazing. Helpful, friendly, and knows how to get you a great meal each time!

OH.. BTW - they make things to order, so if you want your food dying at a hot table, this is not the place ... then again, if that's how you want your food, there must be a Crown or Clown Food somewhere you can go. For the rest of us that savour each moment we have to ourselves to enjoy a bite... you can't beat a great home style meal.

If you have a chance to go through my pix of the place and there are a lot, you will see that I really love this place. Next time... the dumplings......

FOOD: I will attempt to be as objective as I can. The Chanaxi soup was delicious. Cheburekki with beef were unbeatable. I suggest you eat them fresh. That's when you get to really taste the flavour. When it comes to khinkali, this is where I got disappointed. I did not like the texture of the dough and I found the beef filling to be lacking in flavour and portion size. Khinkali from Tiflisi (1970 Queen St East, Toronto) and Sarko (1480 Major MacKenzie Dr West, Maple) taste better in my subjective opinion. I can't wait to go back and try their lulu chicken shashlik (kebab). I saw them making it for another customer and the skewer looked juicy with plenty of meat.

Honestly, this place is a true gem. I'll be coming here every time I'm in that area.

SERVICE: The people working there made a positive impression on me. They're really nice, courteous, and hardworking.

AMBIANCE: This is your typical fast-food place with a counter and several tables to sit at. It's not very spacious. There are, I think, 5 or 6 tables in total. It's fine when you're passing by and want to stop by for a bite, but doing takeout and enjoying their food at home makes more...

I'm quite adventurous with my food choices but tbh I've never had Armenian food until now, so I had to order a bit of everything!

The Khachapuri is basically a cheese pizza on steroids. So thick, so cheesey and so fulfilling. If you're a cheese lover, this is a MUST GET! And eat it while it's HOT!! One of these bad boys will feed 2 people already, so talk about value! The dough is also ridiculously soft, making the whole dish heavenly.

We also got the Armenian BBQ, I love my platters! The meat was tender, juicy and lightly seasoned. The veggies were so nicely grilled as well. I find that this went very well with the Khachapuri, complimented each other!

Then we also ordered the Slow cooked beef Cheeks. In the past, all the beef Cheeks I've had were extremely soft and tender, and this was no different. The mash and the beef brought the flavour out of each other.

It was a lot of food for 2 people. 3 dishes and it fed us 2 meals. Armenian bistro has set the standards very high for Armenian cuisine, and I can't wait to be back to try more! The store also carries grocery items that you don't see at grocery...

The family always wanted to try Armenian cuisine and decided to try this place. We did not get disappointed the food was such a delight. It is not a big place there are only about 4 tables that seats 4 each and one table for two. We ordered the following: 1) Beef cheeks with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The meat was so melt in your mouth tender. It was so delicious and tasteful. 2) The chicken shashlik meal with rice and roasted vegetables and house tomato sauce. The grilled chicken was well seasoned and so good. 3) Khachapuri the double layer freshly baked handmade dough stuffed with mozzarella cheese topped with mixed egg and cheese. It was like pizza and the kids just loved it. 4) Varenyky - small dumplings with potatoes are like pierogies and served with fried onion and sour cream 5) Khinkali - large dumplings with ground beef, fresh herbs and spices The portions are big and the price is so reasonable. Everything was so flavourful and so delicious that we can't wait to go back and try other items in the menu.
