Authentic Jamaican Jerk - Caribbean Cuisine — Restaurant in Toronto

I am very disappointed and displeased with the food served. I went to the authentic jerk Caribbean Cuisine at the Lawrence and Dufferin Location. I have been going there ever since they had opened and have never had an issue. There have been a change in the servers in the back over a period of time and I have always been given what has been requested. Today was atrocious, as once again they have a different server. I ordered a curry goat dinner which I always order for my husband. And the serving size of the meat was ridiculous I thought that this was a child size portion over a sea of rice and peas. I requested for a little more meat in which I was told “there was nothing more that could be done” I requested a refund as I refused to pay $19 for rice and peas. It is such a shame, the server in the back who we started out with was Calvin he is an awesome soul. He always made sure that we were satisfied, and well taken care of. When he prepared our dinner goat was never a child size portion. Customer service was always number one on his list. It is unfortunate that he only works at Dufferin and Lawrence during the day time and is not there during the dinner service. It is really sad that they have hired someone who is not accommodating and does not feel that serving the customers and ensuring that a customers satisfaction is no.1. We all work hard for our money and want to make sure that it is well spent. Don't make me feel as though I have begged for the food and had not paid for it. I'm quite reasonable and do not expect half of the container to be filled with meat but don't give me a portion looking like you counted the pieces. We had been out all day and had not eaten and thought that it would be nice to stop over and buy some dinner. My husband and I have been a loyal customer from the very beginning. and as a result of this we will not be going back anymore!!! I will be damned that as a customer you are going to make feel as though I came in begging for food and was receiving it for free. I would never recommend anyone to go to this location. While their soup is tasty, I feel like I am begging them for food.

I have been visiting this restaurant for the past month every Friday.

First I ordered a small red peas soup with beef and all I got in the container was few bits of beef and the smallest dumpling ever (a single one big enough to fit into a plastic spoon).

The next Friday I went back I decided to order a large just to see if I would get 2 dumplings; well I only got one.

The third week I asked if I could get an extra one, this time I tipped them, to my surprise, again one.

The fourth week I went back and asked again to get an extra dumpling, nothing, still only got one.

The fifth week I went it was too salty and I could not eat it!

I went back and mentioned it and not even an apology let alone an offer to replace. The young lady said "yes, we know".

So I have concluded that even begging is not worth the $8.00+/-.

Last Friday, I decided to switch up my order and get the stew chicken with rice and peas, I paid $8.00+/-, today I went in and ordered the same stew chicken and rice and peas and to my surprise they want $11.00!

I would rather drop dead of hunger than give them...

I ordered on door dash and on the menu it says fry chicken small and large options. My big back Self wanted the large but the joke is you only get two pieces of chicken in a “large” when I called the restaurant the lady that answered the phone said yes it says large but it’s actually a medium and I asked why not just put the real cost of a medium and large meal? I would much rather them tell me on the app for example a large is $25 and a medium is $18 and I get my right amount of food. I feel tricked and apparently this is the owners decision. The food taste good but the way things are structured is ruining the food experience. MANAGEMENT PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
