I visited here the other day for the first time as my husband was attending a meeting with a client in the same building. Overall, the cafe is really clean, a bit overpriced but nice atmosphere. Workers were also friendly. I sat down on one of their chairs, not knowing it had a faulty leg, which then I fell down and slightly hurt myself. The chair leg completely broke off, which caused me to fall on my back. For a cafe that is pricey they can invest in better quality chairs. Staff was nice to help me, but one of the ladies were pregnant and her comment was " I'm glad it was not me, but you." Honestly, I appreciate the concern, but no customer should be in my position and get injured with poor seating conditions. I believe the owner of the cafe was sitting across from me, and she mentioned to the staff this was the second time this situation happened. She tried to brush off the incident by saying she has also broken chairs. However, I continued to stay at the cafe waiting for my husband's meeting to get over, and not once did anyone offer any food or drinks as complimentary given I hurt myself in their store. I asked to take a photo of the chair later on, but they insist they through it out and unable to show me. I don't want to make a huge fuss on this with them, however if it was a bigger person who sat down on that chair, and elderly individual, or someone who was disabled, the consequences would be bad. I strongly urge the management of this cafe to invest in better quality seating on the bottom floor, and ensure the safety of their...
Read moreI am really upset with the service I get here. I used to come here at least once a week and lately the staff and service is extremely rude. After putting my stuff down before even 10 seconds passed, they came twice to tell me that I cannot sit here unless I order. I was waiting my friend to come so we can order together, but they told me that I have to wait outside since I cannot sit without ordering. Although the restaurant was completely empty they told us that we cannot put our laptop to charge in one of the chairs (instead of the floor) as people may need it (there is only one plug in the place, there were over 50 empty chairs). Then they told us the upstairs was closed so moved us downstairs. As we were working on projects and have notebooks, and as their tables are extremely small, we each had a tiny table for ourselves (2 people for 2 tiny tables). They told us that they will take one of the tables away and we are not allowed to use a table each. They did not even ask if we can give our table, she said "I am taking your table, you cannot have this table, this is the way it goes" They were extremely rude and told us that this is the way it goes and we can leave. I am very disappointed with the staff here, especially the regular 2 people that always work here and rude to...
Read moreI come here regularly as I work in the area, however recently, the staff have been horrible. One of the employees in particular - the pregnant one constantly comes to my table to make remarks to me. From the moment I sit down, without even getting a chance to take my coat off, I am harassed by her, telling me to order. Next, she comes to me and tells me to be careful with my shoes near the furniture, despite having BOTH feet on the ground. I am wearing regular, clean sneakers. Then she tells me that I cannot charge my phone at the only plug in the area (a few metres away from my table), because I need to leave the space available for the "lunch rush", despite there being 10+ tables available. The final straw was when the upstairs bistro was closing and my friend and I moved downstairs to sit and continue working, however we were told that we need to give up our table (depsite continuing to purchase food/drinks the entire time), because another customer came in and had no where to sit. It was not a question of whether I can, rather a demand. Disgusted with the service here and I will NOT be...
