Ordered the large Bagel Cream Cheese platter for our son's birthday party in the park.

Used the contact form on the website to avoid email going to spam. After a back and forth with a manager we finally secured the details. There were concerns after I addressed the email to Bagel Time Danforth and their first response was "which location". I mentioned the full date and time I needed the order twice and the last email stated "Will pay upon arrival Saturday."

I arrive at the Danforth location just after 0830 on the requested Saturday and the staff did not have the order ready. Why? They showed me the blank receipt slip torn out of the register and a handwritten note in thick Sharpie with our order and in big letters on the bottom: "Sunday". Oy vey!

The staff were understanding and offered to prepare the order, including my requested to have plain and whole wheat bagels separated from the rest and labelled for our allergen guests and asked for 45 minutes to get it prepared.

They were great! They prepped them all, sliced, cream cheesed, and cut in half and all wrapped individually for easier and safer sharing. Kudos to the two staffers for getting it done. They did not deserve the rushing stress that management put them in.

The third employee was a baker working the oven. He did not wear a mask, despite safety regulations. I addressed this and the messed up date with the manager in a follow up e-mail and the mask is apparently justified as Public Health mentioned an exemption due to the nature of working close to a 650 degree oven provided there is "social distancing". There wasn't. It's small shop, and should that baker have come to work sick they could be breathing all over people's bagels.

I give 5 stars to the staff for making it work after the manager's mistake, deduct one for the manager's mistake, and another because I know times are tough but your website could used a little TLC and updating for 2021. Yes, you're on Ritual but without having your catering there didn't help.

The bagels are good and the staff try hard so I will continue my patronage, just please do better.

PS. bring back the Rainbow Bagel. It's a small but important market for kids and What A Bagel has them. You can charge extra for it as parents will pay...

EDIT: An update to my previous review. Today I tried Bagel Time for a 2nd time, every restaurant deserves a second chance, when placing my order on Uber Eats I pointed out in my comments that I wanted to add both veggies and a slice of cheese to my egg salad sandwich and that they should allow customers to add more than 1 topping because they're probably losing money; they only allow you to add a single topping, you can't have cheese and veggies, or capers and avocado, just capers or just avocado.

They canceled my order.

If, as a business, you value my money and my business so little, why should anyone value you in return? Avoid this place, please. Won't be ordering from here ever again. Ordered a Egg Salad Bagel on Uber Eats and the food was inedible. Immediately with my first bite I experienced a grotesquely bitter and acrid taste in the Egg Salad. I enjoy egg salad bagels, I have them regularly from other places in town for breakfast and this was revolting and unlike anything I've tasted before. I thought it was just the red onions but I took out all the veggies and it tasted the same; something was off. It wasn't funky tasting like something had gone off (although the egg salad WAS quite grey) but it was borderline vomit inducing....

Was craving bagels the other night randomly and came across this place nearby on google. When it was time for the lady at the register to take my order, she had her one hand in her mouth, digging in her teeth. I found this to be unsanitary. I placed my order, several times she kept asking me what I wanted on the bagel. It was 7:30am and I was the only customer btw. She put the bagel to toast and then began to play with her hair. I then asked if she could wash her hands to which she said, she has a glove on the hand touching the bagel. At that point I should have cancelled my order but I was really craving. When I was paying, she brought back up about having a glove on. I wasn’t in the mood to educate her about how she should have washed her hands when I asked. Needless to say, I will never order a prepared anything from this place because if she could conduct herself like that in front of customer, imagine when no one is around. If the manager reads this, please keep in mind that she was pleasant but needs to be re-educated on...

I was looking forward to trying this place’s bagels especially that they were featured on BlogTo as one of the best bagel places in Toronto but to be honest it was an underwhelming experience for me. The place is not as tidy and clean as I saw in BlogTo pictures. Not all variety of bagels were available at the time I went to visit(around 11:30am) and the bagel sandwich I got was not the best quality. I got the breakfast sandwich, the lady just heated a pre-made egg in microwave and put in my sandwich. I also got a dill cream cheese pumpernickels bagel which barely had any cream cheese on it. I gotta say, if you also saw the ad on BlogTo and expect this place to be one of the top notch bagel places in Toronto, you are going to be disappointed. This is just a regular bagel shop with mediocre quality.

On Boxing Day, this Bagel Time was the only bagel shop open within a half hour walk of the downtown core. We bundled up and made the trek over to the Danforth, our mouths watering with anticipation. Unfortunately the bagels did not live up to our expectations. The “everything” in the bagels we ordered seemed to consist of sesame and poppy seeds only, and the texture was too chewy. Most importantly, the taste was just OK, and they lacked salt. I’ve had fresh bagels from restaurants with similar menus and wood oven, that have exploded in my mouth with fresh-baked flavour. None of that here.
