I never get tired of this place—it’s become my go-to weekend ritual. Every Saturday morning, you’ll find me out front, with a bagel in hand. There’s just something special about it—the energy, the food, the people.

The staff is incredibly kind, and it’s obvious how hard they work. There are only a handful of them running the show, yet they manage to keep things moving smoothly even when the line stretches out the door (which it often does!). Despite the rush, they never make you feel rushed.

If you’re not sure what to order, don’t be shy—ask for recommendations. They’ve truly seen it all, and somehow always know exactly what to suggest. That’s actually how I discovered my now-favorite bagel, and I haven’t looked back since.

This place is a little slice of neighborhood magic—and once you go, you’ll understand why it’s loved by so many. There's only so many seats, so don't be surprised if you have to...

i come to this location every week, the women who work here are always kind and pleasant. i don't normally write reviews but after today's visit felt i had to. i witnessed a man trying to place an order - it was clear english was his second language and he was doing his best. a man came and took over for the girl on the register as she was having trouble understanding him. somehow within the next two minutes the man behind the counter was yelling at this man "i don't care!" when he explained he didn't know much english.

i watched this customer try to apologize numerous times even though he did nothing wrong, and the man behind the counter ignored him. after that the man behind the counter continued to be short and rude with everyone else in the store. really disappointing to see in a tourist area especially. english isn't everyone's first language. try being polite to people paying for...

Bagels on Fire is basically the lunch time sponsor for us LMAO.

The women who work here are all so wonderful (there's no AC, and it gets STEAMY in there - the fact that they're still so nice is a miracle), and sometimes you get a bagel that you can literally taste the love. Once in awhile you'll get a foamy tomato, or a bagel with kind of funky ingredient distribution, but those are outliers.

They're a wonderful part of the neighbourhood, and they're the first place I send people when they ask about food around here. I usually grab the BLT with cheddar cheese, and sometimes a salmon lox bagel. If you get the cinnamon puff, ask them to warm it up for you - definitely improves the taste! I cannot sing their praises enough, and the people who work there honestly make...

Highly rated when i searched up a good bagel spot while in Toronto so i decided to check it out. Staff were friendly and upon impression, seemed like it was going to live up to its rating on Google. I ordered the breakfast bagel since I came here in the am and needed some food in me. Didnt take long to prepare my bagel and once i got it, I was underwhelmed. Very thin bagel when it came to the toppings. I've had better looking bagels sandwiches at McDonald's if I'm being honest. The taste wasn't that great either. Again, better tasting bagel sandwiches at McDonald's which pains me to say and admit. Overall, i wouldn't come back and not sure if the people who rated it so highly have ever tried other bagel shops before giving this rating.

Bagels On Fire has been around for just over a decade but somehow escaped my notice until recently. They sell Montreal-style bagels, which tend to be a bit sweeter and denser than traditional Toronto-style. We ordered tuna salad sandwiches. The bagel itself was fine, although the outer layer of mine had a toasted consistency. I'm not sure if it was toasted or not but I definitely didn't want it toasted so I wasn't a fan of the texture regardless. The tuna salad was decent — not my favourite in town but well seasoned, and I enjoyed that the sandwich had a few other ingredients too (tomato slice, etc). Overall it was pretty good. There are only so many places to find Montreal-style bagels downtown, so I appreciate having another option.

I bought these bagels to "round out" a charcuterie-style lunch with friends and they ended up stealing the entire show. The chewy outer was the perfect companion to the soft, buttery bagel inner. Every one raved about the texture. We ate them with smoked salmon. We ate them with their homemade cream cheese. We ate them with Nutella. We ate them with brie. We couldn't STOP eating them they were so delicious. Four of us ate all eight bagels I bought in one sitting. If you get a chance to stop by in the morning, do it! My takeout bag was still steamy from that morning's wood fired batch making the entire experience all that much better. I'm a fan. And I'll be back.
