Niagara Falls, Ontario is an absolutely breathtaking spot, and my family's trip there in 2024 to catch the solar eclipse was downright magical. The Canadian side, where you'll find Horseshoe Falls, is seriously impressive. This massive waterfall curves like a giant horseshoe, sending millions of gallons of water tumbling down about 188 feet into the misty depths below. Standing close enough to get sprayed by the mist while you hear the roar of the falls is an exhilarating experience.

We could also see the American Falls from where we were, which, though not as wide as the Horseshoe Falls, offered its own rugged, rocky charm. The combo of the two falls makes for a stunning view, especially with the eclipse as a backdrop.

But a heads up if you’re booking a hotel: not all places that claim to have "fallsview" rooms actually offer views of the falls. Do your homework and check out some reviews to make sure you aren’t stuck staring at a parking lot instead of the falls! We lucked out and got a room where we could watch the falls while drinking our morning coffee, which was just awesome. Not everyone gets that lucky, thanks to some misleading ads.

Besides gazing at the falls, there’s tons to do around Niagara Falls. You’ve got to try the Maid of the Mist boat tour—it gets you super close to the action. Or check out the Journey Behind the Falls, where you can feel the rumble of the water right beneath your feet. There’s plenty to keep a family busy over a long weekend.

All in all, Niagara Falls, is a stellar place to visit. Just make sure you sort out a good hotel to really make the most of those incredible waterfall views. It’s a spot where nature really goes all out, and the memories are sure to stick with...

Great place to visit, we had a great time. Natural gem of Mother Earth

The Canadian side of Niagara Falls has plenty to offer in terms of attractions and activities:

Journey Behind the Falls: This experience allows visitors to get up close to the base of the falls and view them from tunnels and observation decks, providing a truly unique perspective. You can feel the power of the water as it crashes down.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises: Similar to the American "Maid of the Mist" boat ride, this cruise takes you right up to the base of the falls, giving you an exhilarating, mist-soaked ride. It’s an unforgettable way to experience the falls' grandeur.

Visiting Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is a must for anyone who enjoys natural beauty and breathtaking vistas. The falls themselves are absolutely spectacular, and the surrounding attractions, dining, and entertainment options provide plenty to do for visitors of all ages. While it can be crowded and pricey during peak seasons, there are plenty of opportunities to find a more tranquil and affordable experience. Whether you're visiting for a day or a few days, Niagara Falls offers a variety of activities that make it well worth the trip.

Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is a world-renowned destination that offers unforgettable experiences for tourists. Visiting Niagara Falls was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment I caught my first glimpse of the falls, I was absolutely amazed by their sheer power and beauty. The sound of the water crashing down was both thrilling and soothing, and the mist rising from the falls added to the surreal atmosphere. It’s hard to describe the feeling of standing so close to something so massive and powerful – it was both humbling and exhilarating at the same time. One of the highlights of my trip was taking the "Maid of the Mist" boat tour. Getting up close to the falls, feeling the spray on my face, and hearing the roar of the water all around me made the experience so immersive. The boat ride gave me a whole new perspective on the falls and really made me appreciate their size and strength. The views from the various observation points were equally stunning. Whether it was standing on the American side or crossing over to the Canadian side, each angle offered something different but equally breathtaking. I was especially blown away by the view at night when the falls are lit up – the colors reflecting off the water created a magical and almost dreamlike scene. Beyond the falls themselves, the surrounding area was a pleasant surprise. The nearby parks were peaceful, and it was nice to take a stroll and enjoy the scenery after the excitement of seeing the falls up close. Overall, visiting Niagara Falls was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left me in awe of nature’s beauty and power. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone who loves adventure and the outdoors!
