I was really excited for this place. Like, looking forward to it for a while. Unfortunately, it was a letdown.
There is very limited seating in the front area which would be cool since there is plenty in the back 2 rooms, but I guess there are times when they are between exhibits? It is so boring and bland in the big event space that has the picnic tables/extra seating. Only two pieces. Not the large graffiti exhibition it shows in photos. The smaller room has some art pieces, which is fine. Music was okay.
Cappuccino was expensive and mediocre. Skate shop is tiny but there are a few cool bits of skate nostalgia on the shelves. The guys working at the skate counter are nice and chill, but the barista seemed a little off.
This place is probably way better when there is actually something to look at on the walls and gives a better vibe, but right now it's just like drinking a lukewarm coffee in...
Read moreI went around 1 pm on a Sunday and the only thing they had left food-wise was the breakfast sandwich. Ended up getting that without bacon. It was mediocre. Definitely needed more mayo (I thought they completely forgot to put it until the last bite) and something to give it more flavour. Also, the bread was a little too toasted and since it’s milk bread for milk bread, as it’s meant to be extremely soft). My friend got the same sandwich but with bacon and had the same comments (even that it needed more flavour). We also got an iced oat latte to share. It was very small, $7, and didn’t taste good. Had an almost sour taste. Almost couldn’t finish it. I can’t comment on anything else other than the food/drink as I waited in the car while my friend grabbed the food, but they said it was a good atmosphere inside (which is why I put it at 3 star...
Read moreCafe, shop, and gallery on the east end of Dundas. Service people are always nice. Cafe brews coffee from the Library Roasters...very smooth coffee with a citrus aftertaste. Also features cookies from Courage Cookies, which I find tastier than the other C...g brand cookies. Have had both the double chocolate and the rice krispies cookies...not too sweet and chewy centre but not underdone. Gallery looks like a cool vibe to have an event. Kadence shop that is attached has skateboarding merchandise including skateboards, t-shirts, and Simpsons socks! Could not resist buying a pair for friends. Nice large outdoor seating in the sun with large picnic tables to enjoy beverages or just socialize. Overall: Nice vibe, great coffee, and a cute shop with unique stuff. Will be my new local cafe to get coffee and hang out...
