Off leash dog area has nice dog owners, large space for dogs to run, and not too many aggressive dogs. There’s a washroom nearby but the water fountain for the dogs should not be shut off until end December or January when things freeze over and it snows, but it was. Lots of thirsty dogs. Strangely, people without pets set up picnic blankets in the middle and along edges of the off-leash dog park. This was the first week of November. Large groups have their picnic party here! Very bizarre. On this particular day two people brought their cats in cages and were handing out fish with the fish bones to dogs who approached. The poor cats in the cages were terrified and the dogs were put at risk gulping down fish bones. City should put a sign instructing confused picnickers to set up elsewhere in the park, forbidding caged cats and feeding other people’s pets. I’d give this...

We visited on a Saturday early evening on a gorgeous sunny June day and were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and accessibility of this large park. We were also surprised by the relatively few visitors. We've been to other parks like Trinity Bellwoods and High Park that were very much more crowded. The western part near Sumack and Carlton streets is elegant, stately, shady and adjacent to the Riverdale Farm, farm animals make this an interesting visit for kids. In Sept 2018 there was a lot of construction related to park improvements going on and this put the middle park out of access. The Necropolis is adjacent to the North of the park, it is a beautiful large and interesting place for adults to visit. Many historically important people are buried here. Also there is a small but attractive chapel attached to...

Riverdale Park West has a very extensive green area, with space for picnics in the open field or at tables. They have many benches for resting, lots of trees, a water fountain for pedestrians and dogs and paid parking around the park.

Walking further from the park entrance, there is a path for jogging and walking, next to the baseball field. Additionally, it gives access to Riverdale Farm, which is a great tour for children and adults.

The park does not have a public bathroom, so if you want to use it, you need to enter the farm, which is open until 5pm.

The presence of dogs in the park is permitted, but they must not be loose or placed in...

Riverdale Park West offers a serene escape amidst the bustling city. The expansive greenery and well-maintained pathways make it perfect for jogging or relaxing strolls. The playgrounds are a hit with children, and the dog-friendly atmosphere adds to its charm. The panoramic views of the Toronto skyline are breathtaking, especially during sunset. It's a great spot for picnics with ample seating and clean facilities. The community events hosted here create a vibrant atmosphere, fostering a sense of togetherness. Overall, Riverdale Park West is a gem in the heart of Toronto, ideal for unwinding and enjoying nature.

We walked, played and have a picnic here almost everyday. Probably all season long, with the covid lockdown, we managed to have a quick walk every morning to avoid crowds. Summer 2020 - we hang here a lot and just be aware of the "off dog leash " area, they roamed around in this green park so just be cautious with dogs running around. Parking is quite a hassle, we just walked often and avoid to use car because of the parking . The area is a massive park and over looking downtown too. Very good at night time too.
