So we were running late for our movie but placed the order based on the waiting time communicated to us. When we realised that our order will take longer than expected we wanted to cancel the order. At the time we asked if we can cancel our order we were told that only the manager has the authority to issue refunds, at the time of request our order was not being prepared in the kitchen. It sounded like a made up excuse. At the time of writing this review there is a heat wave warning in effect and the AC in the restaurant is not functioning. It hot in the restaurant and outside. The food is not the best we had but I would give 0 for service if it was possible. I will not be coming back or recommending it to anyone I know. Now for the food. We got vada paav, grilled sandwich and masala tea. Vada paav was refried and had way too much oil which we ate but didn't like as Toronto has way better places for Vada Paav. The grilled sandwich again had no flavours or seasoning like what one would expect from Indian style sandwich. Masala tea was from a vending machine which to be polite was an abomination for a tea. When we asked for a refund just for the tea again got the same excuse that "only manager can issue the refund" it felt like a scam in name of a restaurant. I will never be coming back here and advise the same for anyone reading this. Update1: so to respond to my comment the restaurant says that they cannot just cancel any order on the "whims and fancies" of a customer. Clearly the restaurant forgot that I had confirmed that the order was not in preparation and if it's not being prepared and I ask for cancellation it's just good customer service to cancel the order and refund the money. Yes you do refry your vada and I ahve no doubt on it no matter what the restaurant. As far as tea goes I just took one tea instead of two so this restaurant still owes me money for one tea. Clearly it's a scammy restaurant no matter what...

Food was ok. However, no COVID precautions. The guy working at the front cash and handling the food was scratching his nose and lifting his mask up and down and returning back to work without washing his hands.The worst part is even after giving the feedback the staff was arguing rather accepting his mistake. I have been to this place at least 20 times but I'm sure I'm not returning back.

First of all, thank you for your reply and I’m glad you were so quick in checking the camera footage. The same guy who took the card payment from me, scratched his nose, adjusted his mask couple of times, didn’t wash his hands before making my dosa. This incident happened between 9:41 PM and 9:48 PM on Oct 26. Note - Please take your time in replying. No rush. Would highly appreciate if you could attach the small video clip for these 7 minutes with your reply.

Quick Question - As mentioned by you earlier that your restaurant is taking all necessary precautions in regards to COVID19. Washing hands after touching the nose, washing hands after adjusting the mask, washing after handing the cash, wearing gloves while preparing food doesn’t come under the precautions taken by your restaurant.?

Did you see your staff washing his hands after taking my payment, after adjusting his mask and before making my dosa.? If yes, kindly upload the small video call and prove me wrong. The next thing after watching the video I’ll do is an apology to you and your staff, delete this review, add a new 5 star review and rust to Optometrist. 😊

If you’re so sure about the hand washing procedures were followed by your staff after adjusting the mask, after handling the cash, and no nose scratching incident then, why are you refraining yourself from uploading a small video...

Ordered sev puri today. Had given instructions to make mild but still was spicy. This has happened even before. Also had ordered cheese dosa where dosa was not fully cooked. I don’t know if they change their cook frequently. Few months back we had ordered tava pulav and there was plastic piece in it. Their Brownie is really nice.

Reply to Restaurants Response below the review: Dharmesh one star review is given on today’s food made. We have never bad mouthed you guys in fact promoted for your good food. I do understand if instructions are not clear then it’s hard to make but this time instructions were given on order and also a personal call was made. But I don’t understand if your cook really understands instructions.

Reply to restaurants response: I know mild means not spicy. But it should not be that spicy also that it gives acid reflux to a customer. I don’t think I have ordered sev puri first time with instructions. We ordered two cheese dosa where one was cooked properly and other was not. It was never said crispy as by the time it’s delivered all crispness is lost. Yes personal call is always made to let the instructions know just to be on safe side. Still if your cook does not follow too bad. Also in making sev puri is not out of the way as well coz your restaurant makes it fresh so it’s easy to accommodate the instructions. Well Neways...
