Very disappointed by their order via Too Good to Go app. For the price of $10 (supposed "valued at $31" as listed by the cafe), I received two containers of refrigerated penne pasta with tomato sauce [nothing else in the pasta] + a 1/2 SLICE of refrigerated pepperoni pizza (size of half a slice of Pizza Pizza pizza). The taste is very standard. I understand that TGTG customers are to expect the vendor's selection of whatever surplus of food they choose to sell, BUT, as another person here has written before, this is not a $31 value. $10 is on the high end of cost on TGTG, this is not on par with any TGTG orders I've had at, even at the $6 pricing. Also, the dish itself is something I can make with budget boxed pasta and jarred sauce I get from the grocery store. I am all for saving food from going into the landfill, but I suggest you pricing this a lot lower, if this is what you want to sell via the TGTG app. To further my response to the owner, I am not in need of a meal at a lower cost, I just wanted to share my experience with others who may be considering order via a TGTG app + provide a review on the value and quality compared to the quality of food I purchase from other...
Read moreJust picked up an order yesterday through Too Good To Go and I was unpleasantly surprised when I opened my order back home. I got 3 orders of the exact same dish of penne and tomato sauce where the pasta itself ACTUALLY smelled funny after reheating and a bit sour. I'm almost certain this shouldn't be the norm as I've had my fair share of pastas during my time. Mind you, I know I was getting leftover items via the app and already had lower expectations but it should at least be edible. The order was for $30 worth of food for $10 and my intentions of using this app was to help mitigage food waste while getting a deal as a bonus. It absolutely did not feel like it was $30 worth of food. On top of all of that, these 3 boxes of pasta does not come with any protein or vegetables just to keep it as basic...
Read moreI wanted to reply to my previous review about the food below, but I'm not sure how to so I've created another one.
I was at Caffe Cinquecento with 4 other family members (for about an hour and 20 mins) and didn't realize the chef was also at the café while we were there (I only found out he was the chef after looking up the café online). He was interacting with someone while facing in our direction, he made eye contact with us a couple of times as well... I thought at least we would be greeted/welcomed but we weren't.
The café also wasn't busy so I feel that the customer service wasn't up to par. We traveled from Scarborough to pay this café a visit since we saw some good reviews about it online, honestly disheartened by the fact that it didn't meet our...
