I had the pleasure of visiting City Fried Chicken today, located at the corner of Donlands and Danforth, and I must say — it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, genuine welcome by the gentleman at the front — who I believe is the owner. His friendliness and hospitality instantly set the tone for the visit. He not only made us feel comfortable but also took the time to suggest some of the best items on the menu. It’s rare to find such personalized service these days, and it truly made the visit memorable.

The ambiance of the place is simple yet exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which is always a great sign when it comes to food spots. It’s clear that the team takes pride in both their food and their environment.

Now, let’s talk about the food — simply outstanding. I’ve tried fried chicken from all the big-name chains, but this place honestly blew them out of the water. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, juicy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It’s clear that everything is made with care and attention to detail. Not only is the quality impressive, but the prices are very reasonable, making it a perfect budget-friendly option without compromising on taste or cleanliness.

Overall, this hidden gem deserves way more attention. Whether you’re a fried chicken lover or just looking for a delicious and affordable meal, City Fried Chicken is a must-visit. I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

Absolute Gem!! I recently moved onto the Danforth and was craving something quick and easy. Found this place on GMaps, and was a bit unsure, but the reviews of this place were fantastic (even better than my beloved Popeyes) and some called it an institution, so I figured I woild give it a shot.

I went in and order the Chicken Cheese Sandwich with Fries, not expecting too much and boy did I come away surprised. First of all the meat and toppings are fantastic, cooked to perfection, tender chicken and the peppers and onions are soft but still have chew. The bread is crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and holds everything together perfectly, no breakage, not soggy, couldnt use a better bun. And THE CHEESE, I didn't think I enjoyed processed cheese anymore, but I guess Im born again after this, ties with whole sandwich together with a creamy, cheesy, just wonderful glue. Fries were also well done, with just the right amount of seasoning salt to make them pop.

I liked it so much in fact, when my partener said she wanted chicken nuggets the next day, I knew exactly where to go! (They were also fantastic. Very crispy, nice pieces of actual chicken, great price).

So if you ever find yourself near Donlands, be sure to stop into this hidden gem. You wont be...

Opened in 2005, City Fried Chicken, nestled at the corner of Danforth and Donlands, has been a beloved halal destination for fried chicken enthusiasts. I first discovered this gem in 2017, and it quickly became a favorite lunchtime spot with coworkers. The warm welcome, mouthwatering fried chicken, and a variety of delectable sauces always made for a satisfying meal. I recall them lending us bottles of their honey garlic and hot sauces as we enjoyed our food. Glorious memories ❣️

Fast forward to yesterday, and I was thrilled to revisit this iconic spot. Despite the passage of time, City Fried Chicken has not only survived but thrived. The renovated space offers a sitting options perfect for a casual bite. The friendly staff, including the efficient young man who served me, added to the positive dining experience. It was heartwarming to see the restaurant bustling with customers, especially during the cold weather.

If you're seeking affordable, delicious fried chicken served with a smile, City Fried Chicken is a must-visit. Since I first came across them, they have increased their menu options and feature daily specials worth trying. I'm looking forward to my next visit as this timeless gem continues to deliver on its promise of a good bite and...

First of all, Hot summer heat and the AC in there was not existent. Not a huge deal being a customer but must be terrible for the employees. Due to the extreme heat I wasn’t able to enjoy my food properly. The food itself was not good. I got a Philly cheese steak and it was terrible. The menus stated what it had and I was okay with that but there was ketchup, bbq sauce and hot sauce on it which I didn’t ask for nor was it on the topping list. Not to mention, there was so much hot sauce I couldn’t really taste what I was eating, just spice! I also got a poutine. The poutine gravy was COLD and so were the fries. I also don’t like that they put the food or serving trays which people put in the garbage to dust all of their food off. I get they want to save on containers and stuff but they are a restaurant and should provide a proper dish for the food. I wouldn’t eat here again. The Philly cheesesteak was a huge let down.
