This place doesn’t even deserve one star. I called to make a reservation for 7pm, had to call back to confirm because the person I spoke to forgot to ask not only my name but my number as well. When I called back he knew my name because of call display. Even though I didn’t like the way this reservation started, I had faith. This outing was to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our family and he insisted on trying this place. We got there at 6:45 and there were two people there closing down the place. We were so confused. One of them said that it was a slow night so they were closing early! I said I had reservations for 7pm. He then went to ask the other worker, a lady who seemed to be shocked we had reservations. They asked for our names and pretended to look at the random book where apparently they couldn’t find anything. We walked out of there without an explanation, never mind an apology!!! They just pretended to talk to each other as we walked out. This has never happened to us before, ever! To make a reservation, show up early to find out they were closing. This was a special occasion for us not just a random night out. Either way this is beyond unacceptable. Especially since we had already pay for parking. We would never step into this place again and we will make sure to let everyone we know of this...
Read moreIt’s rare to find a place outside of Mexico that truly captures the deep, emotional, and authentic essence of our flavors. But this week, right in the heart of the Junction, I stumbled upon this unexpected gem.
I tried their birria tacos and, honestly, it was an instant journey back to Mexico. Not the watered-down flavors meant for tourists, but the kind you find in a neighborhood taquería — the seasoning of a grandmother’s kitchen, the aroma that fills the streets on a Sunday afternoon. The birria was perfectly balanced: tender meat, slow-cooked, infused with dried chiles and spices that can’t be faked. The consommé, rich and slightly spicy, was a true anthem to northern Mexico.
Excellent service from the waitresses, very nice and helpful
I paired it with an ice-cold beer, which made the experience even better. Though I will say — it was a bit warm inside. A proper air conditioner this season...
Read moreWent on a Friday night with my husband, 3yo and 5yo. We are from the states and used to killer Mexican food. Of all the Mexican restaurants we have had, I would say this restaurant is the most authentic (PS we have been to Mexico City and Puebla - the culinary centre of Mexico). The service was great - they were very welcoming of our kids. The fish Tacos were incredible (literally best in the city), as was guacamole and chips. Loved the portobello mushroom tacos as well. My kids liked the cheese quesadillas (they had this great sauce on them that they enjoyed). Our absolute fav were the churros and ice cream. Freshly made. The chef surprised us and gave us icecream on the house because of our kids - he told us he was also enjoying his 9 month old grow up. Super cute restaurant. Will be going again soon. Thank you to...
