I recently visited Compton Ave Bar in Toronto and had a fantastic experience. From the atmosphere to the drinks and food, everything was top notch.
The first thing that caught my attention was the ambiance of the bar. The dim lighting, real candelabras around the bar and eclectic decor gave off a cozy and welcoming vibe, it felt as if you were being hugged.
The drink selection at Compton Ave Bar was impressive. They had a wide variety of cocktails, Spirits and wines to choose from. I tried their spirit free cucumber colada and it was delicious. Chef Duke recommended us to try London fog which is my favourite drink, I would have to try the cocktail version next time Iâm here.
The food was also exceptional. I ordered the scotch eggs and it was made well and plated in such beautiful way. The portion size was generous, and the flavours were on point. I also ordered the cottage pie croquettes (donât worry thereâs no cottage cheese in it). It was delicious and addictive.
The service was excellent Melissa was helpful and knowledgeable, The staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us regularly. The overall vibe of the bar was very laid back and comfortable, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or even for a date night.
The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality of drinks and food.
Overall, I highly recommend Compton Ave to anyone looking for a great bar experience in Toronto. The ambiance, drinks, food, and service all exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu, especially London Fog, steak Diane, Parker house rolls, Abbey Road cocktail, Queens Gambit and Blossom garden.
Chef Frankie Solarik and his team did an amazing job creating another exceptional bar experience...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of hosting a birthday event at Compton Ave organized by Saarah - the events coordinator. I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we began planning, Saarah demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that every element of the event was thoughtfully arranged and executed seamlessly. Her creativity, professionalism, and friendly demeanor made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. She truly went above and beyond to make the day feel special.
Nick, the general manager, was also instrumental in making the event a success. His keen eye and attentiveness to ensure everything ran smoothly. It was top-notch service seen by all and it was shown throughout every staff member present that evening. Every team member was attentive, courteous, and worked to make sure all guests felt welcome and comfortable. From the seamless coordination of the event to the delicious food and drinks, everything was executed with perfection. The level of service was beyond exceptional! Itâs clear that every member of the team takes immense pride in their work.
The birthday event exceeded all expectations and itâs all thanks to Saarah, Nick, and the wonderful staff. Their dedication to creating a memorable experience is something truly special, and I can't recommend them enough for any future events. Thank you for making this birthday celebration one...
Read moreI wouldâve scored it higher except for a really odd thing that happened. I wouldâve left but I had already ordered a beer and some food was on the way. After a weekly rehearsal with my band I thought I would walk about 1 min down the street from my place and try this place out for the first time. I was sitting alone at the bar and about 5 mins after I sat down I tried to access my email and social media etc. on my phone. There was no service. I am with PC Mobile and it can be spotty service at times, especially when youâre inside a store/restaurant etc. So I looked at the wifi connections available and saw one called ComptonAve-Guest. I kindly asked the person that sat me for their wifi password. Response: âWe donât give out our wifi passwordâ. Huh? In 2024? Even if you have one called âGuestâ? That was odd. The meal made up for it slightly but sitting alone at a bar with no access to your phone can be a bit of an odd circumstance nowadays. I guess I couldâve talked to the people beside me but they were out on a date⌠I am sure the last thing they would want is another guy to join in the conversation while theyâre out on a date. Not sure I am going back. Good thing there are so many other options on Dundas within walking distance. I have met and I am a huge fan of Frankie Solarik and his group of restaurants (Bar Chef etc)âŚfrom my past visits but this place was slightly off...
