The most unprofessional and disrespectful business I’ve ever dealt with. Here are the facts: In July 2024, I booked an appointment for myself and my mother. On the morning of the appointment, my mother had a fever, and I had to call to cancel her appointment for health reasons. Without my consent, Casa Uma took $163.13 from my gift card to cover her cancellation fee. My mother and I are two separate people with separate appointments — there is no policy that says my prepaid balance can be used for someone else. I was never told or given a receipt when they did this. Over a year later, when I tried to use my gift card for my own service, I discovered the money had been taken without my knowledge. Management admitted their cancellation policy does not say the person booking is financially responsible for another person’s fee. Yet they refused to refund me unless I had my mother (whom I am not in contact with) call them directly to pay. Eventually, they agreed to refund me — but when they sent the e-transfer, the message attached called me “Virona Vigarista.” In Portuguese, “vigarista” means crook or con artist. This was not only offensive but absolutely unprofessional and insulting.

Instead of apologizing properly for this mistake, they banned me from returning as a client and tried to blame me in their response. Their “internal error” explanation for calling me a crook in writing is unacceptable.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this business. Taking customer funds without authorization, refusing fair resolution, and sending insulting remarks is not how you treat clients. Absolutely appalling behaviour — avoid this place...

Very unaccommodating! I decided to visit the clinic because it has perfect 5.0 star reviews and I’m very disappointed on how they handled my situation. I left my house two hours before my appointment just to make sure I could attend it on time because I was a first time customer but also because I value other peoples times. I was trying to save some money and avoid the weekend traffic by taking the TTC but I didn’t know they were having construction work done that same weekend as my appointment. I called the clinic 20min before my appointment to let them know that I would be late due to unforeseen circumstances and they said that’s okay (failed to mention details). I decided not to take the shuttle bus and got an uber (even tho it was expensive) so I could go there as quickly as I could. When I arrived (25min late unfortunately) they told me that I could still get the massage but I had to pay the full amount for a 30min massage. I understand that if I canceled my appointment or didn’t show up at all, someone else could’ve benefited from that appointment but I was doing my best to show up on time.
