A friend and I went for brunch on a Tuesday morning but we were unfortunately severely disappointed with the quality of the food and the service.
While the staff was friendly and personable, it took 45 minutes to get our food while there was only one other person dining-in at the same time as us. Additionally, it took an extra 15 minutes of waiting for the bill.
My friend ordered the smoked salmon Benny and I ordered the Turkish Poached Eggs. The Benny was subpar; bland in flavour and served with overdone potatoes. However, it was significantly better than the Turkish Eggs.
I strongly discourage anyone from ordering this dish, and it seems that there are very few photos of it. Turkish Eggs are served on a plate of pressed, spiced yogurt. It’s topped with grapefruit and figs. Unfortunately, the ration of yogurt to everything else was disproportionate and the yogurt was watery so everything else sunk to the bottom of the bowl. It was like drinking tzatziki soup, but not in a fun way. As for the rest of the dish, I spent half of the time searching for the grapefruit and figs as there was only a minimal amount on the dish and it all sunk under the watery yogurt. The poached eggs and toast however were fresh and yummy tasting. My only regret is not getting a photo to share with folks.
Lastly, I was disappointed to notice that my iced americano had chunks of ground coffee floating at the top. As someone who works in a cafe, I know sometimes that coffee grounds can pour into the espresso shot itself, however, the amount of ground coffee at the top of my drink was indicative of the espresso press not being properly washed between pulling espresso shots.
Needless to say, I would not consider coming here again, or at least not ordering the Turkish Eggs. Perhaps some of their other dishes are better quality. The staff are kind but slightly inattentive at times and due to the lengthy wait time, I wouldn’t say that it’s...
Read moreI’ve been having to leave my house pretty early for the past few days, so I’m going to a lot of brunch places. I think I’m pretty qualified to judge them at this rate, considering I’ve eaten so many smoked salmon eggs Benedict in the past week. 😭😭
Not that it’s a bad thing, I love it, that’s why I’m eating it so much LMAO 😭
I got here nine minutes after opening, and the first thing I noticed, was immediately how warm the people who work there are. Their kid was sitting at the counter on her phone, and it really reminded me of a traditional Asian restaurant. But because the setting was so modern and chic, it was kind of funny at the same time.
I got the smoked salmon, eggs benny, with potatoes. It comes sandwich in a croissant, which I think is really cool. When the dish came, instead of potatoes, there was a salad. I’m actually glad that mistake was made, because the salad was really really delicious. They even gave me the potatoes for free on the side, and I was really warmed up by their hospitality.
For the taste of the food itself, the texture was perfect, the croissant was crunchy, flaky, and buttery, soft, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The one thing is, it was quite bland.
No, this may not be a bad thing, because you could just enjoy the taste of the eggs themselves, instead of whatever seasoning people douses them with.
It was the same thing with the potatoes, so the next time I come here, I’d likely get the salad. I think the potatoes are oven baked, so you’re getting an overall soft texture.
Well, other than the lack of flavor, this textured to presentation, and the portioning was all there. Brunch places tend to portion small, but I was really full after just a salad and the eggs Benedict, and had to get some of the potatoes to go.
I would love to come back here to try the other dishes as well, thank you so much for having me and for your warm...
Read moreAn amazing find in the Lansdowne area for coffee and brunch. Love the decor, and the food was very well presented. Great vibes all around!
On their website, you can view their menu, which states that they use farm-fresh, free-run, GMO and antibiotic-free eggs. Their beverage menu contained some uncommon choices like Vietnamese Coffee, Ube Whipped Coffee, and Butterscotch Latte, to name a few. Recently revisited in 2025, we ordered The Benny (with Smoked Salmon), Corned Beef Hash and Steak Sando. Portion sizes and presentation were still just as good as the first time we visited! The Benny and the house salad tasted consistent. The Sous Vide Corned Beef Hash was just as delicious with thick Toasted Broche. The Steak Sando with the Creamy Slaw and Chimichurri was portioned very well. Also, do not skip out on the Garlic Mayo. Their Vietnamese Coffee hits the spot and is very authentic!
They have a cute patio space and have since renovated the inside to fit more than double the customers! Their patio can fit about 18-20 people. They do have a time limit of about 1.5 hours. The vibes were all great and worth coming back to try more of the menu items! Their staff are very friendly and suggest great recommendations on beverage choices. Also, they have a digital waitlist if it gets really busy, but you have to notify them in person, and it will text you when the table is ready.
Previous review on food & beverage: Back in 2023, our table ordered the Gettin' Crabby, Avocado Toast and The Benny (with Smoked Salmon). We did not realize that The Benny would come inside the croissant, absolutely blown away by the presentation and the combination. Their house salad was delicious as well. The Lychee Hibiscus Juice was a purple cold beverage which looked and tasted great. The Morning Glory beverage was delicious. The Vietnamese Coffee was consistent with other authentic...
