BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS RE: RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today we experienced first hand the worst and most unprofessional customer service in a long time from a Caucasian, middle-aged waitress with brown/red-ish hair.
Initially, she was attentive and courteous taking our orders and bringing our coffee. However, it was following up with our orders is when the incident occurred. What prompted my mom to call her attention was because a party of two that arrived almost 25 minutes after us had received both their orders before ours. Not to mention, one of the dishes was the same as what my mom had ordered. My mom is not the type to fuss over service but this didn't make sense to us, so she timidly asked, "Um.. what happened to our order?" to which this waitress rudely and curtly said, "What about it?" First off, in what world of customer service warrants a response such as this?! My mom asked where is it because at this point we were all shocked at her attitude. This waitress raises her voice, uses her free hand to gesture and said, "Look behind you and look over here. It's busy. So yea, your food is coming sweetie" and walked away. The demeaning tone and condescension was completely uncalled for. It is not a question of whether we can see or not because yes, we have EYES. But to speak to your customers as if they're stupid? Not right at all.
Now if you were present at this time, you would have witnessed my father making a huge scene. I don't usually condone two wrongs making a right. But this waitress totally deserved it and should learn she can't talk to customers this way. You never know who will confront you and stand up for themselves. Both my father and I have previously worked in the hospitality business before changes our careers, so we understand the pressure and demands. But this was clearly a day this waitress COULD NOT KEEP HER EMOTIONS IN CHECK and took my mom's inquiry personally. How do you expect your customers to ENJOY their food after being snippy? Think about the customer's experience.
Best believe I'm spreading the news to all my friends and family to avoid this location!!! We've gone to Cora's at Mccowan and 401 dozens of times more, which is an even busier establishment and the service is ALWAYS amazing. Now we know just to go there for breakfast. Hopefully this manager knows just how detrimental her employee's attitude is to his/her business because we clearly aren't the first or last to...
Read moreWas my first time being here and had a bad experience dealing with the lady on the phone. They got our toast wrong and I had ordered take out and once we got to our destination we realized it was wrong. I called and the lady on the phone offered 1 slice of bread instead of the 4 slices they got wrong. Now its nothing to really make a fuss about but rather the customer service I got was very unprofessional. It just seems like the people doing take out are at a loss considering the folks dining= better service = likely to tip. Anyhow went the next day again and purchased another 2 breakfast meals as our unit was being sprayed. I called in before and mentioned to add the bread that were added wrong and the lady on the line starts to say "oh my gosh, please speak clearer next time". Now I'm not the one to freak out but she was very rude and not letting me speak and on top accusing me something she had no knowledge of, like a typical Karen but from a different country(Chinese lady) with an accent that I could barely make out. She had the audacity to tell me to speak clearer next time when ordering, where as I am born in Canada and the lady who took my order repeated every thing I had requested to verify so can guarantee that the verbal verification was correct. The Chinese lady on the phone on the other hand I believe is the manager there but was denying when asked on the phone. I don't want to make this too long but this was literally the worst customer service I had dealt with.
Oh, I forgot to add regarding my order. They did end up giving me the slice breads but they gave me the smallest end cuts which they would not give to a customer to begin with and also, they shrunk my egg and my breakfast potatoes and was much smaller than the first breakfast I got. Just the most disgusting and cheap dealings with this location.
To note:- I paid for both meals on both days. The slice breads were the only free replacements which they...
Read moreToday we came for brunch and had one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant still had a two-person table available, but it was missing one chair. Every other table was full. A lady server with glasses completely ignored me when I walked in, only speaking to us after my boyfriend entered, saying nothing but “give me 10 minutes” — no hello, no greeting, nothing.
While waiting, I politely asked if we could sit at the empty two-person table. She loudly snapped “NO! That table is missing a chair. You’ll have to wait until other customers leave.” Instead of simply moving a chair from another table (which clearly had extras), she made zero effort to accommodate us. Meanwhile, she was laughing and joking around with local customers while continuing to ignore us. The only thing she said to us during the entire wait was that single “give me 10 minutes.” Absolutely unacceptable.
This was not our first time here. On our first visit, the same lady with glasses treated us poorly — ignored us, made us wait at least 5 minutes for menus, and only gave us water after we asked when our food had already served. We still paid the tips (unhappily) because the food was decent. Our second visit was better, thanks to a different, friendlier server lady. But today, on our third visit, that same lady was even worse than first time. Her attitude makes me seriously question whether she discriminates against Asian customers.
Food may be fine, but service like this is disgusting. This lady with glasses is rude, unprofessional, and makes the entire place look bad. We will never...
