Fox and John's Pub and Restaurant — Restaurant in Toronto

The Fox and John is somewhere my co workers and I have gone for a few months now! Normally love the service and servers, everyone is usually very kind. Unfortunately last Tuesday my co workers and I went there for a a quick get to together. There was a blonde girl who was serving our table (whom I assume to be a newer staff, haven't seen her before) and right off the bat wasn't very pleasant. We all order our drinks and she asks for everyone's I.D which is totally expected, though much of our group was over the age of 25 but being a smart server that is expected! One of our group members was refraining from drinking, but later in the evening changed their mind. Then decided to of course order a a pitcher to share with another member of the group. Our server obliged with no problem and then brought the pitcher out with one glass only. My friend asked asked for a second glass for the two whom were sharing (which she was already told) then had a quite an attitude right away but brought it. So the member of the group starts to drink with the rest of us and then the server, without reason came out and announced loud enough so other tables could hear that if my friend is drinking then she would "kick you and all of your friends out". She then uncomfortably glared at my friend all night as if she had done something wrong. The server never asked for an ID of any kind and my friend was too embarrassed to pull it out after being yelled at infront of everyone. Then goes inside to her co-workers and obviously pointing to our table and is looking at us. I posses a smart serve myself and am a part time bar tender. I am so dissapointed in the service we had experienced from her, as we usually have such a great time here. Additionaly, my friend was servered that same night by two other employees who were nothing like our previous server. It was a down right embarrassing experience for everyone at the table. We will be giving this place another shot forsure, usually it is so lovely. Hopefully we just don't have to have that server again or a similar experience. That is my only reason for giving 3 stars, other than that it would've been a 5...

Absolutely disgusting. Where do I start?

We dinned here for a family get together this past Sunday evening. We couldn't believe the level of service in this establishment, big mistake choosing here for a special night out. To start, the servers all seemed extremely incompetent in what they were doing. We watched our drinks sit at the bar for over six minutes until the server finally brought them over. My husbands beer was flat with no head because of how long it sat there. My mothers Mojito was beyond sour, worst mojito I have ever tasted. As for myself, I wanted a nice glass of red wine and was in complete shock to find out only three red wines were available and all of them being of very low quality. I had no choice to venture out of my norm and order a negroni. What a mistake yet again, it was missing compari and vermouth... pretty ridiculous for a drink made out of only three ingredients with all equal parts.

All of our food was cold after waiting over thirty-five minutes. The spinach and artichoke dip was flavorless and came only five minutes before our entrees, unacceptable. We would not have ordered an appetizer if we knew it would take thirty minutes to arrive, it defeats the whole purpose. I found my red shrimp curry entree to of been extremely salty and had a terrible presentation.

To top everything off, the server who served us split an entire glass of water all over the table which soaked my purse.

Horrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone even if it was the only restaurant open in the neighborhood. This place really needs to get their business together as I can see this place going under in one years time, if...

Had the pleasure of visiting fox & johns last Friday night, after a few recommendations, first time visiting the place yes the music was alittle on the loud side but then again so was the street and I get that it’s the Toronto vibe being a vibrant city. Anyhow the food was simply amazing and the stag was extra courteous, our server Jessica was an absolute charm, she gave me and my wife an insight into the city about were the vibrant areas are and gave us a warm welcome to the place, the place had a fun atmosphere, the food was absolutely fantastic, it was a busy night and we were surprised how fast the service was, the drinks were amazing as per my wife I just like my rye and that’s failsafe hahah, but what really set the place apart was the staff, everyone was welcoming and extra helpful but Jessica’s service level was above par, extra courteous, always kept an eye as she was passing by to see if we needed anything and extra helpful for anything we asked for. So thank you Jessica and Fox &Johns, your team surely made our night memorable and the service was phenomenal. I’m not one to comment reviews and am recently a new reviewer and I guess this is the new social norm so this place surely deserves the credit and we will definitely be coming back. Reason for me posting is because we just visited a different restaurant tonight and just had a really awful experience and I don’t like posting negative reviews but only give credit where credit is deserved and Fox & Johns team definitely deserves the credit and just made us think about going back to Fox &...
