Our second visit because we were impressed with our first visit. First Visit: They did forget about us .. we were in the back. Finally gave us our menu but did mess up on the order which they fixed and was generous with sausage and bacon. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benny and my partner had the original breakfast w French toast. Lol they did forget about the cutlery. It was pretty busy there and they were understaffed. It did NOT however take away from the charm of the place. Food presentation was pretty nice, generous portions and quality of my eggs Benny was spot on. NO PICTURES bc I only remembered after attacking my food. Expect the bacon to be on the crispy side of life - thankfully we like it that way. Second Visit: They forgot about us ... we were sitting in the front. It was really busy and still understaffed. They did forget about our beer our water and our cutlery as well lol 😆. They where super friendly, apologetic and again it did not take away the charm of the place. We ordered from the daily special menu this time. I had Sweet & Savory - eggs Benny on French toast w a generous heap of pulled pork Hollandaise sauce & deceptively filling 😋 very yummy. My partner had the Clubhouse Plater which came with fries and coleslaw (i would suggest eating the fries first they are so good when hot and crispy). Again portions were generous. Both dishes were yummy however the clubhouse plater got my vote this time. Thankfully I remembered about pictures before I ate all the food. Although the pictures are missing some bacon slices and half a sandwich 😆. * prices are the best on Queen Street West ** expect not perfect but friendly service *** still love this place and will come back again to try the banquet burger next Update 20240421: came here for brunch today and service was spot on! Staff was efficient & friendly. ❤️

They brought me a dirty fork, I asked to change it so they did. I was with my friend. She ordered 2 dishes, I ordered one. When we asked for the bill, a male waiter (tall Turkish looking guy, in case the management is interested) brought us just a terminal without the physical bill which is already a nonsense. And then there was twice more expensive sum on the display. I asked the waiter about it, he said “your order”. Wdym my order? Why can’t you apologize and explain that maybe you are mistaken and needs some time to clarify. So he added my friend’s dish to my bill. It’s not a problem for me and my friend to solve this and transfer money to each other. It’s a problem that the waiter could not 1) remember who ordered what 2) was mean 3) didn’t bring the printed bill itself. No apologies, no explanation at my confusion, but arrogant and mad face. While we were eating, a homeless man entered the cafe. He didn’t smell good at all, we lost all appetite. I felt not safe at all + vibe of eating at TTC. Why doesn’t management do anything about it? Food was actually good, coffee 0/10; service 0/10; atmosphere 0/10

As a tourist, I'm not about to pass a place that claims if makes the best burger in the world. I'm very glad I didn't. This isn't a big place, but it's got a nice old time diner feel and it's well located on Queen. The staff were friendly and service was fast. And the burgers... Dear God. Being from Nova Scotia, you can't go to a restaurant and get a medium rare burger. It's not allowed by law. Not the case here. The burgers had so much flavour thanks to them not being cooked to a gray colour. The buns (or in the case of the Ossington the rye toast) were fresh and you get more fries than you can eat. The first bite is an explosion of taste and grease (not a dig - burgers SHOULD BE GREASY) and it just carries on from there. So happy we stopped here. You should too. Very reasonably priced, great food, lots of burgers to choose from. But trust me, if it's your first time, you have to go with Frankie's original in some form. It's the right thing to do.

Went to Frankie's today for our usual breakfast, and despite the food being great (as always), I have to say the service was shockingly poor.

There was a waitress (I've never seen her in all my other times there) who within 3-4 minutes towards finishing breakfast (I was finishing my last pancake) asked 3 times if we were done eating.

This, despite letting her know the 1st time she asked that I was not, and the fact that I had food on my plate and was still eating.

Every time she passed us, she asked if we were done. By the last time she asked, it was a bad enough an experience, that I put my fork and knife down and told her "I guess I am given you keeps asking" (I still had half a Pancake on my plate) to which she then took my plate away and when I told her that I was not done eating, she didn't return the plate. She then left and took the food with her. Unfortunately, the owner wasn't there where this issue could have been brought up. Which is odd because he's always there every time we go over.

What a terrible experience with this person. It's understandable that if I was there lingering on a piece of food, wasting an exuberant amount of time and that they want the table, but we couldn't have been there more than 30-40 minutes.

Again, I'm not complaining about Frankie's. The food is great, and the customer service has always been friendly and quick (free coffee refills, checking in at the table if anything is needed, etc).

However, with this unknown waitress there and the way she went about handling the service at the table, it made an always good experience horrible.

Hopefully it doesn't happen again. I don't want to give up the good breakfast they serve and have to find another...

Oh, boy yeah. I don't give out five stars lightly and usually go to a place a few times before reviewing, but I've seen enough.

I was looking for the best-reviewed diners and read up on the menu here like it was a trailer to a movie. They certainly live up to their reputation.

If you like cheese, the qautro fromaggio burger is your friend. Fair warning: the portions are huge. I didn't have room to finish my side salad.

On top of that, the bill after my burger and beer was very reasonable. I've paid more for worse burgers.

I found myself wanting to try everything on the menu. Maybe next time I'll try their breakfast or dessert of the day. It's a pretty stacked menu.

It was 1pm on a Sunday and this is a popular spot, so they were unsurprisingly busy. I think my friend and I were lucky to get a table as quickly as we did, but our server and our food were quite fast, despite the rush. Our bill did take a little more time -- we had three different people ask if we wanted our bill and we said yes each time, but I guess they were slammed and things were a bit hectic. Staff were all very friendly.

If I wanted to complain about anything, our corner table was a bit cramped for two broad-shouldered guys, but downtown businesses have to make the most of their floor space.

I'll...
