Dined out here recently and the food was tasty and our waiter, who although appeared overworked, was extremely nice and professional. We waited a standard amount of time for food, but drinks took longer than expected. So if anyone contemplates dining here during a Blue Jays game for instance, perhaps avoid doing so during busier sporting events. Had two louder groups next to me and those I dined with, and we could hear their entire (mildly inappropriate) conversations. They were from the Jays' game... and likely already drunk from having a good time. No shame in that, but it's something to consider for those that would like to dine here with kids.
We were greeted quickly and seated almost as quick at a window seat, which overlooked passing pedestrians. I could smell people smoking in the distance (as the main entrance door was opened), which although I'm not foreign to the smell, I imagine it would be unpleasant to those that can't tolerate it as much.
Besides all that, I thought our experience was great and I'd recommend the restaurant invest in a larger space when they're able. A line formed with people interested in dining and one employee had to reject entrance to at least 3 groups, due to the space already being...
Read moreOur recent visit to Gabby’s Bar was quite disappointing. After sitting on the patio for almost 20 minutes, we were informed that we couldn’t dine outside due to a complaint from the previous night. To clarify, our group was not causing any disturbance; we simply wanted to enjoy a meal outdoors.
This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered poor service at Gabby’s Bar. Frustrated by the experience, we decided to take our business to the Right Wing nearby, where we enjoyed excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere.
For those considering Gabby’s Bar, I advise caution. Based on our repeated negative experiences, there are far better dining options in the Young and Eglinton area that offer superior food quality and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have given this place three chances - no more. The woman who runs the bar on Saturdays is completely incompetent. It took almost 10 minutes for her to even address us after we walked in. Why? Because she was chatting to the regulars at the bar and arguing with her child (yes, her ~12 year old son was sitting at the bar during lunch). 10 minutes later, we got our drinks. It’s been another 20 minutes now and our food is nowhere in sight. It shouldn’t take 40 minutes to get served a few sandwiches in a bar that is 25% full at lunch time on a Saturday.
Not sure how the food is going to be today, but the quesadilla and fajitas I’ve had in the past were nowhere near worth the wait...
