We went to Gazhale last evening to get dinner. The ambiance is pretty standard (aka boring). The food is all precooked and displayed in the cases and is heated up in a microwave in front of you, not a fan of that especially since they microwave it in cheap disposable containers.
We ordered a meat plate, a shawarma plate with fries and a chicken shawarma. I felt my meat plate was very average, pretty bland, not a lot of flavor. My friend thought the chicken shawarma was one of the better ones she had eaten.
The guy who was making the shawarma was using his hand, no gloves or anything. Same hands for food prep, cash register, counter cleaning.. you get the drift. Not cool.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Ghazale Restaurant, Etobicoke, where we enjoyed an authentic Ethiopian food platter that was absolutely delicious! The rich flavors, vibrant spices, and perfectly cooked injera made it a true feast for the senses. Every bite felt like a warm invitation into Ethiopian culture and tradition.
To top it off, the Ethiopian coffee was a highlight on its own—aromatic, bold, and beautifully served. It added such a special touch to the entire dining experience.
The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were kind and attentive, eager to explain the dishes and make us feel at home. Whether you’re new to Ethiopian cuisine or already a fan, Ghazale is definitely a place worth visiting.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something unique, flavorful, and authentically...
Read moreThis place has some amazing traditional middle eastern food, and more variety than most shawarma restaurants nearby. They have a large selection of healthy Lebanese salads which were great, and delicious Baklava that tasted much fresher than most other shawarma places. I also loved the eggplant which is my favourite middle eastern dish. I like this place because they have classic shawarma wraps, plates and fries, but also more unique authentic middle eastern food like lentil salad, eggplant etc… They have samosas and soup as well, but the Ijja veggies balls were the best. They are vegetarian fritters, which pair amazing with their tasty sauces.
Inside is clean and they have a restroom and lots of seating. It’s a very casual place but the amazing authentic and unique food...
