Walked by this place many times and it looked empty inside. I decided to try it out today because I did see a few customers lining up before they were even open! I visited during lunch and it was constantly busy. They also have hidden booths on the side that are not visible from the outside which explains why it always looked empty to me.

I was greeted and seated right away. To order, there was a self serve tablet at the table which was very user friendly. Place was immaculate and the tablets didn’t even have any fingerprint marks!

They had a simple lunch menu and I ordered the Maki Set C with a spicy dragon roll and a dragon roll. I also ordered potato croquettes on the side assuming the portions would be small… But the portions were large for both items. It took some time for me to finish everything. Both rolls and side tasted fresh and made to order. I definitely did not get that gross/sick feeling after having their deep fried croquettes which is a win!

There was one main server and she was very efficient and friendly. I didn’t have to wave her down to refill my water and she stopped by my table just enough times to ask if everything was okay despite it being lunch hour. She was not overwhelming and made sure I was comfortable. I had an extremely pleasant experience and would come back to...

In Japan, escolar (oil fish or white fish) is forbidden to eat. It is dangerous because it causes digestion problems with its too much oil. However, it's legal in Canada and this restaurant seems to cook it in a proper way to reduce its unnecessary oil.

I ordered Nigiri Sushi dinner $27.95. There were 3 escolar out of 13 Nigiri. It was my first time to face this fish at the sushi restaurant and first I had no idea. I tried to eat one of them, and tasted so strange and not delicious at all for me, Japanese. Immediately after that, I remembered the fact over this fish, which I saw on Twitter. I stopped eating and asked the server to change this because of the reason I mentioned above. Unfortunately the restaurant refused it with the reason these escolar were already served. It didn't make sense that it's was chef's choice and I had no idea what were coming. But I didn't claim and just left the restaurant with no full stomach with this price...

People should know escolar is absolutely not an original sushi item in Japan and has a risk. If you want to avoid it, I highly recommend you to ask before ordering.

By the way, other Nigiri sushi items tasted just okay. Not so delicious for me. The server itself looks nice. Although I won't come back here again, it was good to have an...

a bit on the pricier side, but well worth it! we were seated at a very cosy booth that was perfect for conversations! the food arrived very quickly and servers were very attentive with water refills! superb service! — 11/10/21: we ordered a vegetable tempura, kamikaze roll, and a creamy scallop roll. everything was amazing!!! hands down this was the best vegetable tempura i've had in a very long time! perfectly battered and not too greasy at all!! the pumpkin ones were especially amazing-- i think i would probably order a whole plate of just pumpkin tempura if i could :0 the special rolls were fantastic as well! portions were great and had a very nice sushi rice ratio! my only wish was for the bits inside the kamikaze roll to be crispier. but overall the ingredients were all very fresh!

09/11/21 second time here was even better than the first!! ordered the spicy salmon dragon and salmon dragon rolls as well as the beef gyoza. again, the gyoza was deep-fried perfectly and not greasy at all! the garlic dipping sauce was quite yummy as well. both the rolls were amazing (and massive)!! super fresh and super worth the price! — definitely see myself returning to try out the rest of the menu and especially for the pumpki...
