Gus Tacos — Restaurant in Toronto

The food here is always great, my problem is with the lack of understanding or hearing the customer when ordering! Staff is friendly but when something have been messed up there seems to be no action towards the fault! As staff it would be great if you could listen to what is being ordered! If someone is specifically asking for no onions as the customer you would expect that. It’s not the first time and has happened mutilple times! Also when ordering Carne it can also mean Steak. So please verify with the customer as many Spanish speaking clients may mean Carne as Steak not Carnitas as Pork! (Even tho I did say Carne 2 times!) And to mention my order was repeated 2 times and I had to correct your staff 2 times and it still was not what I asked for ! I have also payed for pineapple and when I opened my order at home there wasn’t any and it’s not the first time, which is very frustrating when I’m paying extra for it. I have spoken to the staff but they didn’t seem to want to make it right anyways! If you could take the time to listen and speak with staff I would appreciate it as I would like to continue to...

Gus’s tacos - when it was on Dupont Street - used to be my favourite burrito location.

I haven’t treated myself to Gus’s for some time, so surprised to see that the DuPont location has shut down and they are now located on Bloor Street.

I used to get excited to go to Gus’s tacos, it was something in my regular take out rotation.

Today, I’ve had my first horrible burrito from Gus’s tacos. I ordered a beef burrito, my regular. There is more sauce in this burrito then there is anything else. I can taste more lemon and cilantro then I can the actual guacamole, and I just don’t taste the flavours that I used to taste. The beef that is there is cold, dry, no flavour.

The middle of my burrito is oozing some mayonnaise tasting sauce? I’ve never tasted mayonnaise, or any strong lemon in my burrito from Gus’s before. The flavours always combined wonderfully to this amazing burrito that made me so satisfied. Not today.

I’m very very saddened by this. If this is the new standard for Gus’s taco, I need to find a new...

I don’t know what happened to this place, but there’s been a big change. We used to come to Gus Tacos almost every other Sunday with my team, but today might’ve been our last visit.

Did the recipe change? New staff, maybe? The bread on our tortas wasn’t fresh, barely any avocado, and even the one small request we made, avocado on the side, wasn’t followed. The first torta came with everything already inside, so we said no problem, we can pay for extra avocado. But then the next torta came missing avocado altogether, even though we asked for it with everything.

It’s disappointing because in previous weeks, the food was delicious and the team was always super friendly. This time, it just didn’t feel the same!! I even ordered a torta to go, hoping for a better one, but again, same dry bread, like it was made two days ago.
