All I did so far was call them. It's like they've never used a phone before, as business owners or as a staff in a business. The first person picked up the phone and made a weird sound. I had to ask if I got the right restaurant. But the WORSE part is that the response. The tone is as if "why are you calling? Did we do something wrong? Are you going to ask something out of syllabus? Hopefully you don't ask any difficult questions, like in an IAS exam". So the first staff member didn't have an answer and she responded with "one minute". As if I live in her house like a tenant. Then another member comes on and says "hello?" Again, same energy "who in the world is calling us and why? It's crazy that people are calling us as if we are a business that is going to provide products and services, but in fact we should have just been at home or ANYWHERE else without human interaction besides those who are familiar to us". This whole thing felt so awkward that I started to falter and wonder if I had somehow inconvenienced them. Usually people ask such generic things as "how can I help you?" or "I understand you have a question about our restaurant?" or even "Hi, I am how can I be of assistance?" NOTHING. I suspect the first one heard my question, got BAMBOOZLED, and quietly passed the phone to the other one and she came on without ONE SINGLE gram of a clue. Anyways, I have given 2 stars because after what seemed like an episode of pulling teeth, they did manage to somehow answer my questions. But the cherry on top of this collapsing cake was the "that's all?" at the end. As if all my questions and the entire conversation before was SUCH a stroll in the park that they were surprised I didn't ask anymore questions. How are basic customer service skills and phone etiquettes NOT a part of the training...
Read moreI had the chole puri and aloo puri and a Tari Wala chicken and I would not come back for these items , maybe I will try some thing else but chole puri tastes like u got that straight from a box and the aloo puri had no flavor it was just thrown in and put to serve with no thought process for flavor. Tari Wala tasted like achaar chicken but with korma and if that was the intention then sure it hit the mark with the most little amount of flavor. There was no wow factor nor freshness to it. Felt like it was made days ago. Lastly the puri was not puri. That is not the definition of puri . I don't know what to call. It's deep fried but no flakiness to it and no flavor to it....
Now the service , the counter service was great. After ordering some items can't even tell me something to order for recommendations. Now when I finished eating half the food I could not finish it but I hate wasting the food. So I went up to the counter and there was a tall lady there and I went up and instead of saying "how can I help" she continued talking to her friend on the phone. And I rang the bell and she kept walking away and talking , not even tell her other coworker to check on what I wanted. All I needed was a Togo box lid. A lid , so I can wrap up my food and leave cuz this is 7-8 am is dinner time.... Congratulations for the 1 star, maybe I will come back for something and change the rating cuz it's...
Read moreWe were excited to see a new Indian spot in the neighborhood. I was a bit scared of the small number of good reviews thinking friends and family but we were quite impressed. We ordered the chicken momos, chicken tandoori kalthi roll, raita salad and chole with naan. All the dishes were excellent. The raita had an interesting combination of spices, not just the usual yoghurt, onion and cucumber. The momos were much more flavorful and well-balanced than the Nepali and Tibetan ones I’ve had around Parkdale. Loved sopping of the chole and devouring it with lots of raita. I might try one of the paneer rolls next time or the pani puri. They also have desi open mic comedy nights if you want to eat in. My only complaint is that the portions are quite small but that means you can sort of mix and match different things. They also are open 24 hours which could be very dangerous for us night owls. This definitely beats Mumbaikar, Banjera or the Butter Chicken Roti place which used to be...
