This bagel spot is a staple in the neighborhood. It's been around for over the decade I've lived here. When it comes to quality of the bagels and freshness it's fantastic, reliable and enjoyable. The pricing is decent for the most part You can get 6 bagels for $6.50 and if your getting a sandwich for veggies toppings it's $0.30 per topping, $0.50 for 2 toppings and $1.00 for 3-4 toppings. they are a bit stingy with their topping Meaning they don’t really give you much. It’s usually only one piece of lettuce, two small tomatoes, or one big one or two thin slices of onion. If you request a leaf more they either have an attitude or charge additional. If you request three toppings at first and then change your mind to add a fourth sometimes they can have an attitude about it (mainly the older women working there, the younger girls are real nice.) When it comes to customer service, some improvements can be made...the older women (specially the one with the short red hair) seem to have a attitude no matter how polite or nice you are. It's not just towards me but I've noticed it towards others as well. They seem to be picky who they feel to be nice with...unless your a tall handsome man they hold a bitterness when cashing you out or asking you questions and a harshness in their tone. For a place that relies on customers you think their demeanor and attitude would be more welcoming. Again not all the girls are this way mostly just the senior ones. If you want well baked quality bagels this is a place to go in the local area. They also have a wide variety of in house baked pastries and a small seating area for your meal. Their coffee isn't bad either. It can be a bit pricey easily spending $16 on 2 bagels toasted with cream cheese and 4 veggies each. I wish I could leave more then 3 stars but the cheapness with amount of veggies and customer service is where they...
Read moreI passed by here yesterday. I've lived on Finch W my whole life, so I often see this place while on the bus, but I never really had a reason to walk by the intersection til then. I walk in and I'm surrounded by a variety of pastries and bagels. The lady working seemed to be running around her little booth doing who knows what since there were no customers at the moment. There are two places to order, so I didn't know where to stand to get her attention and see how this works. Wanted to know if I bring the bagel to them. After that, I picked up an everything bagel, and got it toasted with butter. The bagel was amazing! Nice crisp exterior, really soft/fluffy interior. When I go to Tim Hortons, I usually ask for extra butter on my bagel. I didn't ask here, but it had the perfect amount. Really flavourful and east to eat. The dinning area is a bit weird, its in the corner of the store, and it has quite a few seats and tables, but it felt really old and musty. Tables weren't cleaned in a while, food on the floor etc. Not sure if it's just too busy to clean, or they just don't clean it too often. I also don't like how 'open' the food is. Perhaps it is to make it easier to grab, but it'd be nice if they had plastic covers, especially when some of the food is so close to the ground. All in all, I'd give 5 stars for the bagel and apple turnover. 3 for service and the general state...
Read moreThis place is probably the only bagel place I go to in the area. There's like 4 or 5 bagel places in the 10 km proximity of this place and have to say this ones the best! The customer service is excellent, the ladies in the morning always greet you with a smile! Plus some of them remember your order - which is awesome! The prices for pasty and bagels are reasonable! Always love seeing fresh bagels come out of the oven on to the rack! Although service is great, the sandwich prices are a bit too high. To get a tuna bagel with cheddar cheese is $7-8, I feel that's just a little too ridiculous. In addition to this, its really disturbing to see bacon being warmed up in a microwave for a BLT. If you're paying $7-8 for a bagel sandwich - at least serve your customers fresh bacon. Also please consider healthier options to substitute for bacon - ie. turkey bacon - also for people who don't eat bacon as well. Lastly, as much as I love the cozy corner stop bagel place. The spacing between the pastry rack and the fridge is too tight. There's no covers for the pastry it self and I've seen a guy knock over pastry with his backpack while trying to pick up chocolate milk - gross! I've felt discouraged from buying pastries since! Other than that, just recommending a few changes, but do love this place and yes def....
