Just a few days ago I ordered through the app and strolled into Harvey’s, all set to chow down, not to audition for the latest episode of Guess My Profession. The moment I walked in, this older guy (I’m pretty sure he moonlights as a manager or whatever title he’s feeling today) took one look at me and immediately assumed I must be a delivery driver. Because why wouldn’t I be, right? I mean, it’s not like a brown guy in a hoodie could just want a burger without an ulterior motive!
When I explained I was there to eat, he shot back with, “Why are you eating before delivering to my customers?” Oh, you mean the customers who didn’t order a side of racial profiling with their fries?
After clearing up that I wasn’t a delivery driver, he had the audacity to ask me, “Well, what do you do then?” Oh, I don’t know… maybe some of us brown guys are doctors, engineers, or—wait for it—scientists like me! But hey, let’s just pretend we’re still stuck in a sitcom from the 1950s.
I came for a burger, not a stroll down Assumptions Avenue. Next time, I’ll take my appetite to a place that serves burgers without the extra helpings of stereotyping...
Read moreChoose this location if you want to wait 15 minutes for your ONE burger to be ready only to be told they haven't even bothered to start making the fries, so you have to wait another 5 minutes for the fries, by which point your finished burger has been sitting around on the counter for 5 minutes. If you want to pay $14 for a disgusting, stone cold burger and undercooked rushed fries, then come here. The grill person looks like he's high on crack and the topping person looks like she hasn't worked a day in fast food in her whole life. What's the point of having a manager who just stands around not helping with food production while 5+ people are waiting for their order at 2:30pm? Is that peak time for you lot?
Edit: I couldn't finish the food as it was simply gone cold and soggy by the time I'd started. I specifically drove to the location instead of ordering on a delivery app to get hot food and what a pointless...
Read moredidnt think i would be rating a fast food resto but here we are. during pandemic, i have seen take out places follow some protocols, others not and have gone but decided not to order food because of that.
this location was clean, everyone working wore masks and gloves, nobody going between cash and food handling, designated spots for the possibility of multiple customers at one time, so i felt safe and had peace of mind ordering take away from here for my family. (food was also perfect!)
reading other reviews for this particular harvey’s made me come to this location instead of another even though it is a bit further for me. i know we are all tired of this but i really appreciated everyone working here for their continued efforts in keeping everyone...
